OK it’s time for me to get on a soapbox for these majestic creatures. If you ever come to Thailand or any other place where there are elephants please DON’T ride them. It’s really bad for their backs. Also they mistreat the animals to make them conform. Find an ethical sanctuary to visit where you learn about these majestic beasts. Elephants are pack animals. They need each other. Lone elephants are sad elephants. They need to be around other elephants. Many ethical reserves rescue elephants from work detail to allow them to live compassionately. If you already rode an elephant and didn’t know about the abuse don’t worry about it. When you know better you’ll do better. Please do not continue to perpetuate the abuse of these smart animals.
