Elfhome Cover Art by Clyde Caldwell
Tried my hand at making a Team Tinker logo, from Wen Spencer's Elfhome series. I feel like I'm the entire fan base for this series but I am SUCH a big fan.
"It will be a just and honorable battle."
I think Moon Dog is secretly Klingon.
*Screaming* WHY DID YOU HAVE TO END WITH "THE END?!"
WHY? 500 pages of rising action full of militia movements and convoluted plots and revelations (and occasional "oh shit I'm the adult here" moments) And you end on a cliffhanger and "The End." ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE YOUR READERSHIP A HEART ATTACK?
Okay so I got the recent Wen Spencer Elfhome book (Harbinger) and it's both amazing but also too full of pov switching, and too full of povs. I would have preferred fewer pov shifts, and maybe some actual interaction between Team Mischief and Team Tinker. Both "teams" manage to get a lot done with the limited information they have, and I can understand within the narrative *why* there was no interaction between the Tinker and her new baby sisters. (I am pretty sure it was deliberately set up to keep the Big Bad from understanding WTF is going on.)
But still, there is a thread of "I am aware that other people making plans for me that I am not in on pisses me off. At the same I have yet to talk to my new siblings and I am making plans without including them."
On the other hand, that's been literally the game plan for many books because the Big Bad has pet Quisach Haderachs.
I'm still pissy and mildly freaked out about "The End" though. Wen Spencer ma'am, WHY.
Also: My Kindle copy is full of typos. It was like reading something on AO3 that had been written really fast then posted really quick, without even any proofing. (Reminder to self: must see if there's Elfhome fan fic.)
