elyan/mithian, in canon universe at least, would be such an interesting dynamic though, particularly in 4x11 and just after (basically before 5x04). because mithian is essentially replacing gwen in that episode and elyan is absent from a lot of it (probably also bc he's taking some time after the druid boy thing) and i don't know. i feel like there would be an instinctive resentment, much like there is with merlin to begin with, and then he gradually warms to mithian...and then as soon as mithian finds out elyan can make swords as well as fight with them it's all over, and they would probably be massive nerds together and yeah...
