Elijah glances over when Q suddenly stops talking. Looking the other over and seeing them fall the man starts to fall to the floor. Stiffening at the sight of blood Elijah stood still for a moment. Not from fear, however. But because memories he had forgotten had faintly emerged. Shaking them off he moved over to the man watching as the shooter had made his escape "Shit…" Elijah cussed before bringing his attention to Q again.

Taking out a phone already he nodded "Ah, yeah. Yeah, I'm already on it!" What this guy did when he was being shot in the streets like this, was Elijah's biggest question, however. Holding the phone up to his head he brought his hands together now that they were free, cupping them over one another as he invisibility started to work his own magic, not sure how severe the wound really was, but it was bleeding a lot, and so seemed to him to be severe enough "-Yeah. Q's shot…I don't know- Some guy!" Elijah hisses.

He could see the other's condition getting worse in the short moments that followed being shot. He would contribute it to the others easily squishiness maybe. But this was not the time to start doing that, since the man was legitimately shot and bleeding a lot. Pulling his hands away, in his left palm had been a glowing flower, clearly unnatural compared to any other flower one could think of. Elijah slammed it into the other wound "What the fuck am I doing…" He muttered before getting more comments on the phone "Yeah...I don't know! He looks…fine? I am not a doctor!" He was a journalist, or a delivery boy, depending on where he could get a job.

He just couldn't resist, despite his own inclination toward superstition, Elijah liked to test the boundary. Narrowing his eyes observantly around the room a moment. As Q is frantically grabbing at his arm Elijah blinks out of his focus "Calling out to the demons…" He explained. To him it made perfect sense, because he wanted to see if any demon was there, like it might appear to be. But if it was just a dude in a mask?… Elijah sighed "What are they going to do if they are human? Attack us?"

Elijah had powers, so he wasn't too terribly afraid of a couple of costumed people getting a little too antagonistic with him "What if it is demons? Hm. Come on Lemon Hater. Let's go!" Narrowing his eyes frighteningly into the darkness ahead of him he grabbed Q's arm back and started to try and drag the other with him, because he didn't want to do this alone, either. Elijah glared toward the darkness "And if we leave it, what about the next person, what if we are the only one's that might stop the maybe demon?"

Elijah stares at her as she's talking. He then picked his head up a little, looking away from Layla then. He didn't think anything was wrong with him, in the sense that one did not think a cold was going to kill them, these days. When many years ago, colds certainly were likely to almost certainly lead to being death sentences. So in that way, he didn't think anything was wrong with him. But there was still something wrong with him "It's like a cold that doesn't go away. But I function just fine." If one could count not being able to retain some memories, or remember former one's that were lost, as 'fine'.

Who needed memories anyway…Elijah sighs "Maybe I will." He shrugged at Layla then. But listened as she continued on talking. As she brought up knowing someone who might be able to help him with his memories, he paused, a pit forming in his stomach. Suddenly feeling cold…or, not exactly cold. But a wave of 'wrong' ness, the feeling, washed over him. Maybe it wasn't a good idea, to remember what he forgot? His jaw tightening, he narrowed his gaze a bit "Both yes, and no. I don't know. You know? It's hard to explain, I guess? I want to know what I forgot. But…what if what I forgot, is worse than not knowing?"

Asphyxiation | Tatia & Elijah

Tatia had been wandering about the town all day, beginning from the library, to the Grill, but when she came out of her thoughts, she found herself at the doorstep of the Mikaelson mansion. She stood there for a second, mouth slightly ajar, wondering what she was even doing there. It might have been Rebekah, her best friend of a thousand years ago. She wanted to catch up, but Rebekah had a different life now, their friendship had long since dissolved. Perhaps it was Niklaus, whom she had met and argued with. But ever since she had his torture chamber painted pink, she’d lost the bravery to face him again. She knew she was an annoyance, and it would get her killed before the month was over, so she really shouldn’t be nosing about in the mansion. Tatia’s mind wandered over to Elijah. She bit her lip, thinking she should turn away. Wishful thinking; she should never have come back to Mystic Falls. She took a step back, her small weight creaking the floorboard, before making a move to turn away.

AU: Tatia comes home to find Elijah's humanity off

Elijah is lounging on a chair, resting after a long night. His eyes travel to the door when he hears Tatia.3:24

Tatia: 'lijah. *gives him a tired smile when she opens the door and walks over to him. She reaches down to place a hand on his chest and gives him a kiss on the head*3:26

Elijah: Tatia. *gives her a fake smile and his hand goes out to grab her wrist*3:27

Tatia: *notices something off but thinks little of it. She stops and turns to look at him, still carrying her purse*3:31

Elijah: How was your day? *looks at her with cold eyes*3:32

Tatia: *Tatia's eyes move off to the side as she thinks something's wrong before moving back to his* It was tiring, why?3:34

Elijah: Just curious. *stands up, advancing towards her*3:34

Tatia tries to pull her hand away.3:36

Elijah: *half smiles* What's wrong, Tatia? Trying to run?3:37

Tatia: Run? What's wrong, Elijah? Did you turn your humanity off?3:39

Elijah: *tilts his head to the side* Why would I do that? *eyes travel up and down her body*3:44

Tatia: *gets uncomfortable and tries harder to pull her wrist away, taking as many steps backward as she can* B-because this isn't you.3:45

Elijah: Oh, it's me. A better version of me.3:47

Tatia: *looks at him sideways, afraid* It isn't.3:49

Elijah: I'm stronger. Unhindered by the worries humanity brings me. *brings her hand up and kisses it, his eyes not leaving hers*3:49

Tatia: *sharply withdraws her hand* T-turn them on.3:52

Elijah: *snatches her wrist back into his tight grip, looking almost amused* Why should I?3:53

Tatia: *cries out in pain and tries to think of an answer* You loved humanity. Feeling was everything to you, Elijah. Turn them on, please.3:57

Elijah: Love? Love makes you weak. I would know, I spent a thousand years mourning you. Pathetic, really. Klaus was right. Humanity is my greatest weakness. I did completely irrational things because of it. But now....I'm strong.3:58

Tatia: *uses her other hand to try and pry Elijah's hand off by the fingers*4:02

Elijah: *smirks* You can't beat me, Tatia.4:03

Tatia: What are you doing to do to me?4:03

Elijah: Nothing. You're of no use to me. *tilts his head to the side, studying her*4:04

Tatia: Then let me go. *tries not to sound afraid*4:04

Elijah: I now know why cats are so entertained when they play with mice. Your fear....it's thrilling.4:05

Tatia: Let me go. *says slowly*4:06

Elijah: *slaps her* You don't order me.4:07

Tatia: *gasps from the pain and shock as her head turns away by the force, her hand going up to cup it. She looks back slowly at him, more afraid than she ever was.* Alright. What would you have me do? *says wearily*4:09

Elijah: I haven't fully decided yet. Though I think it will be something along the lines of doing whatever I say.4:11

Tatia: *looks into his eyes, searching for any sign of humanity left* Why did you turn it off?4:14

Elijah: Would you really like to know?4:15

Tatia: Yes *stammers*4:15

Elijah: Because loving you is the most painful thing I've ever experienced. *speaks coldly*4:15

Tatia: *is shocked* Why?4:16

Elijah: I hated loving you. Never knowing when you're going to run again was taxing, after pining over you for a thousand years.4:17

Tatia: *Tatia's grip over his fingers relaxes* I'm sorry.4:18

Tatia: *Tatia's hands fly up to his hand, prying at his hand with all her strength* I am. You wouldn't understand that because you can't feel sorry. You can't feel, Elijah. So turn them on.4:32

Elijah: *tightens his grip on her neck* What did I say about ordering me?4:33

Tatia: *squeezes her eyes shut* I can't breathe.4:33

Elijah: Good. *growls before letting her go*4:35

Tatia: falls to the floor and edges slightly away, putting her hand around her throat while it heals. Once she's healed, she uses her speed and makes a run for the door.4:37

Elijah sighs, and blocks her exit, glaring coldly at her.4:39

Tatia: Why aren't you letting me leave? You've said so yourself, I am of no value and use to you. *glares directly at him despite her fear*4:40

Elijah: I'm hungry. Vampire blood isn't as sustaining as most, but it will do. *slams her against the wall and sinks his fangs into her neck*4:41

Tatia grabs his hair and tries to pull his head away. Tears begin rolling down her cheeks though she barely feels any pain.4:43

Elijah drinks deeply from her, keeping her pinned to the wall.4:44

Tatia doesn't stop strugging.4:46

Elijah pulls back when he's done, keeping her in place while he licks his lips.4:46

Tatia uses the wall for support and puts a hand up to her neck, healing. She turns to look at the door.4:48

Elijah: *grips her chin in his hand, forcing her to face him so he can Compel her* Be back before nightfall.4:48

Tatia: I'm not leaving. *growls*4:49

Elijah: Suit yourself. *lets her go*4:49

Tatia: What?4:49

Elijah ignores her, laying down on the couch.4:50

Tatia: Just like that? *is fully healed* So let me lay the facts out. You say you don't feel, that makes you not love me. I try to leave and you prevent me from doing so. Then you allow me to leave, but you can't let me go because you Compelled me to be back. And then When I don't leave, you let me stay? Which is it, Elijah? Make up your mind. Did you just drink my blood for fun? Because you had no other reason to make me stay?4:58

Elijah: Shut up. *closes his eyes*4:59

Tatia: No. And that is both impolite and vulgar.4:59

Elijah: If you don't like it, you can leave. I have no reason to listen to you.5:00

Tatia: No I think I will stay until you turn your humanity on. *grabs a jar of pastry and sits herself right next to him*5:01

Elijah continues to ignore her, his eyes remaining closed.5:01

Tatia starts munching.5:01

Elijah speeds over and snaps her neck, figuring that will shut her up for a good hour. He lays back down on the couch, resting.5:02

Tatia: *starts choking when she comes to* YOU BROKE MY NECK?5:04

Elijah: I can do it again. *gives her a bored look*5:04

Tatia: Why don't you just kill me for good? *reaches into the jar, grabs something and starts munching again*5:05

Elijah: That would be too easy.5:06

Tatia: *glares at him before going back to munching*5:07

Elijah throws a book at her head, annoyed.5:07

Tatia: *swats it away* What? *looks annoyed*5:08

Elijah: Stop making so much noise.5:08

Tatia: Stop being a twat.5:09

Elijah ignores her again.5:09

Tatia: *rolls her eyes and goes back to eating*5:10

Elijah: Why are you still here?5:10

Tatia: *picks the book up and walks over to sit with him again*5:12

Tatia: *looks hurt and holds back a sigh* What if I say no?5:13

Tatia: *sighs* Please turn it on. *reaches out and touches his cheek*5:14

Tatia: *holds back a sigh* Why haven't you already done so?11:57

Tatia: *is quiet for awhile* Did you really hate loving me?12:01

Tatia: *tries not to show she's hurt* You can't hate me. You don't have feelings.12:04

Elijah: True. So I guess I just don't care. *smiles*12:04

Tatia: *is taken aback and doesn't know what to say, so she's quiet for awhile* I wasn't going to leave you, Elijah. I was going to stay for eternity. You didn't have to be afraid of losing me.12:08

Elijah: I'm afraid I don't believe you.12:09

Tatia: Then Compel me to tell the truth and I will say it again.12:12

Elijah: *gives her an amused look* You're so desperate.12:13

Tatia: *eyes narrow* Stop making excuses, you're just afraid it's the truth. Because if it is, you'd have to do something about your state. Turning your emotions off would have been purposeless.12:17

Elijah rolls his eyes and slaps her.12:17

Tatia: *recoils from the slap, but less than before* What? Am I right? Are you annoyed? That's emotion, Elijah.12:19

Elijah: Be quiet.12:20

Tatia: *sighs* Just turn them on, Elijah. Please.12:21

Elijah: *takes her by the arm and throws her across the room* Quiet.12:24

Tatia: *Breaks her arm when she hits the wall and falls to the ground behind the kitchen counter. She waits for herself to heal before going over at vampire speed to Elijah.* You would have to drive a stake through my heart if you really want that.12:28

Elijah: *looks at her and Compels her* Tell me the truth about everything.12:29

Tatia: I love you. And I was being honest about what I said. I wasn't going to leave and I would die for you, Elijah. If that means dying trying to get you to turn it back on, then I'm more than fine with that. *blinks tears away*12:32

Elijah looks a bit taken aback.12:33

Tatia reaches out to caress his cheek.12:35

Elijah flinches away from her touch.12:35

Tatia: *tears begin to roll down her cheeks and she walks away to sit on the couch silently*12:36

Elijah watches her, frozen in place.12:37

Tatia curls up and hugs a cushion.12:38

Elijah takes a step or two towards her, hesitating.12:39

Tatia wipes her tears off her cheek and looks lost in thought.12:41

Tatia: Turn them on. *leans slightly away and doesn't look at him*12:42

Elijah: I.... *voice drifts off*12:43

Elijah gives her a somewhat confused look.12:43

Tatia: *feels a tiny flicker of hope in her and hesitantly reaches out to touch his arm* Can you feel anything?12:45

Elijah: I don't know.12:45

Tatia: *hands tightens around his arm* Yes you can.12:47

Elijah 's eyes search hers12:48

Tatia: I love you. I still do.12:48

Elijah: Why?12:49

Tatia: *inching closer* It's love, it isn't something I can explain. I have all eternity. I will wait for the day you turn them on again.12:51

Elijah leans towards her instinctively.12:51

Tatia slowly cups both hands around his cheeks, stroking rhythmically with her thumb12:53

Elijah closes his eyes, focusing on her touch.12:54

Tatia slides on hand down to rest on his shoulder and moves in. She places a light kiss on his cheek, then his neck, before moving away.12:56

Elijah 's eyes snap open.12:56

Tatia is afraid and takes her hands off him.12:56

Elijah: Don't stop.12:57

Tatia hesitantly slides a hand into his jacket while leaning in. She kisses him on the cheek again.13:03

Elijah gulps, his eyes closing again.13:03

Tatia places her other hand on his cheek, caressing it gently, and slowly kisses him on the lips13:07

Elijah suddenly kisses her back, putting a hand on the back of her head.13:09

Tatia deepens the kiss slightly, moving her hand to the back of his neck.13:10

Elijah pulls back, his expression pained.13:10

Tatia: Are they back? *looks a mixture of worried and hopeful*13:11

Elijah: I hurt you.13:11

Tatia: *smiles, tears beginning to fall from her eyes* No you didn't.13:12

Elijah: *gulps* I did.13:12

Tatia: No. *hugs him tightly*13:13

Elijah holds her close to him.13:15

Tatia: *rests her chin on his shoulder, running her hand up and down his back soothingly* I love you.13:16

Elijah: I love you too.13:16

Tatia: *pulls away slightly to look into his eyes* I'm just glad you're back.13:17

Elijah: I hurt you.... *frowns*13:18

Tatia: You didn't.13:19

Elijah: I broke your neck...13:19

Tatia: *looks away* It's fine.13:19

Elijah: No.13:19

Tatia: It is. *moves in and kisses him tenderly*13:21

Tatia tangles her fingers in his hair.13:24

Elijah kisses her harder in response, a hand going to her waist.13:25

Tatia: *pulls back and sniffs* Did you really hate loving me?13:30

Elijah: No. Never. I could never hate loving you.13:31

Tatia: Then... why did you turn your emotions off?13:33

Elijah: I'm not exactly sure.13:33

Tatia strokes his cheek with her thumb13:36

Elijah: Are you okay?13:39

Tatia: *beats him lightly on the chest* Stop worrying about it.13:44

Late Return | Tatia & Elijah

Tatia walked up to the doorstep of her house, much slower than her usual gait. She wanted to see him, and she was so sorry for what she’d done and everything she had said, whether it had hurt him or not. She knew she was wrong, but another part of her refused to let her believe that, and it refused to let her turn her humanity on. It seemed like whenever she felt something, that part made a move to block it from her, and she felt almost as if she were locked in a room again, unable to feel. And that drove her insane on the inside. She was confused, and lost, forever unable to carry a train of thought for long. The more she thought, the more she began feeling, and that part of her would begin to shut away, and she would question her initial thoughts.

She reached the door and stared at its white wood for a moment, fully doubting her decision to turn up. She wanted to see him, but there were too many problems. Pushing the thoughts aside, she rapped her knuckles lightly on the door. She knew she had the keys and could let herself in, but it didn’t feel like her place anymore. She had been away for too long, and she carried too much shame for leaving to feel like it belonged to her. Tatia waited, listening to the sounds beyond the walls, ignoring her mind while it screamed at her to turn and leave.

Mitosis | Tatia & Elijah

Tatia pulled the familiar whitewashed window open again and crept in. She compared herself to a firefly; drawn to a light despite circumstances. She couldn’t do this, she told herself. But she had told herself that in the morning, and in the afternoon, and in the mornings and afternoons of the days before. But every night past midnight, she would travel all the way back into Mystic Falls, just to see one man. How pathetic of her. What was this cruel joke on her life, anyway? She, a vampire of no feelings, shackled by Elijah – and he didn’t even know it. She could burst out laughing in the room right now. But she didn’t, because she would wake him up. What would he think, if he woke?

She went round to his side of the bed and peered down at him. His arm disappeared under the pillow while the other arm lay somewhere beneath the covers. She inspected him quickly, making sure that he was alright, but she didn’t let herself wonder what use inspecting a quick-healing Original was. Instead, her feet brought her around their – his – room; it didn’t seem like hers any longer, while her eyes darted here and there, checking. For... what? Her mind prepared itself, half-expecting to see Esther sitting around the corner. It took her mind off wishing she could touch him again. No Esther. She relaxed slightly. She moved silently, stroking out the creases of a deep purple shirt that hung at the door before heading downstairs.

She wasn’t here to see just one man, she was here to see if that man had kept her house tidy. Her house; not just one man. Or at least, that’s what she was telling herself. The house wasn’t dark to her at all; her eyes had adjusted to the house long before tonight as she knew where everything was. She looked around anyway. Kitchen, fireplace, coffee table, stairs. Brilliant. The place was tidier now than before she had left. Not that she didn’t know that last night. Or the night before. What was she doing here, anyway? Wake up, Elijah. Compel me. I need to kill myself so you can get over me.

Devil's Penumbra | Tatia | Self-Para

Tatia swung the window to their room open slowly, trying not to make it creak. Her olive skin stood out in contrast to its whitewashed wood. She crept in gracefully, putting one leg through before ducking into the bedroom. Its warmer air enveloped her body immediately and she welcomed it. She turned back to close the window gently. She did not want the room to cool and Elijah to wake up. If he did, she didn’t think he would let her leave.

It was exactly twenty days since she had left the town. Why she kept count, she did not know. Esther was nowhere in sight, Katherine had turned her emotions off. Other than that, she had learnt almost nothing about Mystic Falls, except that Jenna had gotten married to a vampire hunter. Even Klaus had been unusually quiet. It seemed that the only thing she looked forward to was going back home every night. Perhaps it was the familiarity, she thought. She was at ease in her own house. Her home. It smelled like home. Her wandering gaze ran over the sleeping figure in her bed. He breathed almost inaudibly, chest rising and falling below the sheets. She surveyed the rest of the room to see if anything was different. It wasn’t. Everything was tucked away into their storage places. Only a shirt rested carelessly over the backrest of a chair near her. He must have been too tired. She wondered what he did during the day. Her eyes darted back to his sleeping form, five feet away from her. He seemed so peaceful tonight. No usual tossing and turning, like most other nights. So she sat in the chair, and waited.

Two hours later, she was still there. He had moved occasionally, only to shift positions in his sleep. She wasn’t looking at him. She was looking at the floor. By now, she had memorised every pattern of grain on the floorboards near her feet, much like how she had memorised every line on his face. She didn’t need to look to see. But suddenly the sheets from the bed rustled, and she looked at him. It wasn’t a shifting of position, it was the beginning of a nightmare; she could tell from his breathing. She was up on her feet and next to him in no time. She put images of the orange cat in his mind – Jengo scratching at the window, and him walking to the window to open it. She watched as his breathing steadied. It was slow now, unconcerned; it was time to go. But she wanted to stay. But why? She knew she would want to stay even two hours ago, but she had been putting the question off. She had pushed all the questions in her head away. She did not know how to answer them, and she did not want to know the answers to them. She did not feel anything. She only had the same nothingness that existed within her today, yesterday, and the day before. She wasn’t even hollow – there was nothing to fill.

But she wanted to touch him, and so her body acted upon it. She reached her hand out automatically, but stopped mid-air, inches away from his cheek. If she touched him, he would wake up. So she lowered her arm, letting her hand trail lightly over the sheets near his chest. And then she turned and left.
