Ryder Nemesishealer is one of the grumpiest, stand-offish warriors in FireClan. He hides behind this tough exterior to conceal the truly caring person he can be...though he still is the type to laugh if you tripped and fell. Being on of the most experienced fighters in the clan, Ryder often trains classes in between tasks Blaze assigns him.
Ryder is the son of Nemesis and Helikard; the Dragonese god of healing. Like Credell, Ryder was born with healing powers, though they are activated in a very different way. His blood contains the healing properties, thus requiring him to cut himself to heal others. He does have exceedingly fast regeneration powers, which is why he rarely requires intensive medical attention. Ryder is one of the few people with two tears in his wings.
He doesn’t like personal questions and doesn’t tend to talk much...but his new apprentice; Gaylia, has slowly been drawing him out of his shell. Ryder hasn’t really had a family since Matt Fayette’s death, but he’s learning how to take care of the kids he seems to draw near him thanks to his apprentice’s friendly nature.
Ryder doesn’t really have a lot of healthy habits. He smokes a lot of weed to calm his nerves and keep the nightmares that he totally doesn’t have at bay, tends to sleep very little and has been known to consume alcohol that would normally kill a demidragon and even a human. He’s working on being better with himself, especially since he now has an apprentice of his own to look after and be a good influence to. Ryder hopes the new family that seems to be building up around him doesn’t fall apart like the last one did if someone dies. He doesn’t know if he could survive it again.
Alazar comes from a very long and distinct family line that dates back to the beginning of the demidragons themselves and she’s rather proud of it. She herself is this product of two very fine warriors of IceClan who died tragically in a battle against a Nachtkrapp (giant raven-bird that looks like a demon-plague thing) that wanted to eat baby Alazar one night in the dead of a Siberian winter. Since then, she’s been taken care of by her grandparents, specifically her grandfather; Elkerzahn, leader of IceClan.
Alazar is very cold and intimidating to those who don’t know her. She speaks very little if she can help it, but does every duty expected of her and then some. By the tender age of 8, Elkerzahn named her his heir, a title she bears with pride. She’s one of the fiercest warriors of the clan, always ready to defend her clanmates with her life. Any other clan who dares assume her diminutive size would hinder her in battle is proved wrong very quickly.
Despite it being slightly frowned upon, Alazar is friends with Hiccup Firehades and has been known to sit with him and chat at Gatherings despite any insistence that she shouldn’t. She’s often accompanied by Zolt, a LightningClan warrior around her age who suffers from a very severe stutter and quite a few nervous ticks. She’s not easily impressed nor easily surprised and tends to be quite cynical when confronted with someone or something new. Her cold exterior doesn’t mean she lacks a heart, she just doesn’t like to grow close to people, as IceClan culture usually mandates.
The scar on Alazar’s right shoulder is where her ranking is placed in IceClan. Being an heir means she’s First Mark alongside Elkerzahn. She’s not very arrogant about it at all and doesn’t believe in the caste system set in place. Whispers have flitted around IceClan debating whether or not she’s ready to challenge Elkerzahn for leadership, but Alazar remains completely indifferent to the speculations and continues to serve under Elkerzahn with nary a complaint.
