Are you struggling to decide whether you would rather adopt a dog or a cat? We might have the perfect solution for you: Elixar! Our senior gal Elixar is an enigma. Much like a cat, she is perfectly content to do absolutely nothing at all the entire day! Elixar is a champion roacher, and whether she is updside down or right side up, she can just chill while you do your thing. Elixar is a bit slow to trust new people and takes her time with establishing eye contact. She can be nervous and trembles when faced with new things. When she first arrived in her current foster home, she took up residence in a spare bathroom so her foster parents made it comfortable for her. Elixar is free to roam, but prefers her quiet, personal space. Late at night, when the house is quiet, Elixar comes out to collect toys and she now often joins her foster mom in the home office during the day.

If Elixar wants to go outside, she jingles her tags with a full body shake. When her foster mom responds by opening the back door causing the alarm system to say "back door," Elixar knows she is all clear to walk through the house to go outside. Elixar prefers not to have people watching her while she takes care of business but she doesn't mind if other dogs are with her. Elixar has lost many teeth so her foster family softens her food with warm water. She has a cute way of acknowledging her meals by licking and smacking her lips. Her foster parents indulge her by letting her dine alone in her private room. Elixar reluctantly goes a walks but is good on a leash. She rides well in cars and really doesn't need other dogs in the home.
