So in case you're like me, wondering what happened to the huge swath of old school-styled metal and hard rock bands of the late 2010s and early 2020s that kinda got fucked over by the pandemic, it turns out NWOTHM started coming out of the raw punk scene. The more chain punk-styled PATROL from Spain and the egg punk-derived STERÖID from Australia both mix fast hardcore punk mixed with AOR and hard rock melodies, featuring Motörhead-styled drumming and those dueling, Thin Lizzy styled guitars a lot of new rock bands are desperately lacking.
