thinking that since lebanne feels to be about the same age as the players (if not just slightly older), same with corbeau, i wonder if he grew up kind of idolizing her tough-girl type of persona where she's rough around the edges and Strong, and unapologetically outspoken and always looking for a fight and to get stronger.

like lebanne isn't necessarily a Gangster or Thug in the sense that she goes around harassing people, from her dialogue you can tell she's really just in it for the love of the battle and Being Feral — it's not like she was harassing or beating up Innocent Kids, they were people her age (ie. ivor) or people she considered strong, because she wanted the challenge, she wanted to come out on top!!! she wanted to be strong and prove her might!!!!! even after being forced to do jacinthe's bidding, she isn't necessarily malicious, and even tries to go out of her way to warn the players about jacinthe when she could've absolutely been like. 'heh. gonna make you go thru the same hell she put me through.'

i just feel like that kind of powerful energy would translate well to an impressionable kid who Grew Up In A Rough World, coming to this foreign place and seeing this girl who's probably only slightly older if not The Same Age As Him absolutely decimating all her peers. after being beat down by the world being strong enough to Give The Finger To Anyone Who Doubts You is like. absolutely banger as fuck and mayhaps he might have wanted to get a dragon team as well (i know gyrados isnt dragon type and it's likely from his time as a lysandre stan but its DRACONIC ENOUGH OK), and then.
