I know we bring up "Wouldn't hurting the Mind Flayer and Vecna hurt Will"
But like. What about all those other kids he kidnapped. It's it strange that after everything they went through, they don't consider maybeeee harming the giant monster of Vecna could have adverse affects on the kids? Will isn't even completely connected anymore and he still gets hurt.
Not only should they have been questioning what would happen to Will if they killed Venca once and for all, I think there should have been uncertainty and hesitation attacking or killing the giant spider because they didn't know what would happen to the kids either.
I doubt this thought ever crossed the Duffers mind, but it should have.
Actually, while I'm on this topic, there are still major unexplained differences between Will and those kids.
When Hopper and Joyce found Will, they were pulling that tentacle out of his mouth for what felt like an eternity. It was... deep and lodged in there.
When that thing was removed, whatever Vecna left in Will's body stayed. It stayed for years at this point. They exorcised Will and yet something still remained.
Let's compare it to the children, shall we? When Holly removed it from her mouth, it was just there. On her mouth. No... insertion. Not only that, she was able to expel the particles with a little gag or two and off she went on her way. Same with all the other children when they were rescued.
It's tearing me apart that I will never truly know why Will was different compared to them. Why Vecna kept him alive after multiple opportunities to kill him. What was the point of it all, why couldn't they have just given me my darn answers.
They introduced this new plot with Henry's blood and that's how El got her powers and they don't even connect that plot to Will or the 12 kids either. It's like, what was it all for? Just to kill El? All that to give some bullshit excuse to kill El?
How are their stories so similar and yet they WON'T CONNECT THE DOTS
