Mackenzie Hits The Bottle.
Is Mackenzie right about John and how will Aaron take it when he hears Mack has badmouthed him.
Mackenzie staggered his way to the Woolpack.
"How are you Chas" he slurred.
"Feeling a lot better thanks" Chas replied. "I'm not serving you Mack you're drunk"
"Is Aaron around?" Mack asked.
"He's in the back with John but he won't see you Mack especially in this state" said Chas.
"I demand to see him he's my husband" said Mack getting agitated.
"Oh haven't they told you? Aaron and John got engaged and Aarons set to dump you" said Ella who had just came into the pub with Mandy.
"What's she doing here?" snarled Chas.
"It's a free country and she can go where she likes" said Mandy.
"Please tell me it's not true about Aaron and John" Mack pleaded taking a swig out of the whisky bottle he had with him.
"If you're going to drink that in here you can think again" said Chas.
"I want to see my husband" yelled Mack "He's with that thug John and he's blackmailing Aaron into keeping his secrets"
"What you on about?" asked Mandy.
"Well I'm not scared of him and I'll tell everyone he's an expert at getting rid of dead bodies. Just ask him where Nate is and it was him who spiked your drink Chas" Mack said swaying back and forward.
"Get him out of here Cain before he says too much" said Chas. "And for your information everyone knows who spiked my drink that murdering bitch you're clinging onto"
"Get your hands off me you piece of shit" yelled Mack as Cain tried to get hold of him.
"Me and Ella will take him outside Cain" said Mandy.
"Come on Mack" said Ella "Let's get him out of here before Cain manhandles him again"
Mandy and Ella helped Mack out of the pub and sat him on the bench outside.
"What's all this about John?" Mandy asked.
"I swear he's not who he says he is and he's leading Aaron astray" said Mack taking another swig of his whisky.
"Mack please put that bottle down young Chloe's baby is due any day now and you need to be there for her" said Mandy. "Let's get him home Ella you can drive his car"
Ella and Mandy drove to Macks cottage where Gino answered the door.
"We've brought your boyfriend back and he's a bit worse for wear" said Mandy.
Gino helped Mack out of the car and into the cottage.
"He's been out all day but I thought he was with Aaron" said Gino. "Just look at the state of him"
"Do you need any help with the kiddies or anything?" Mandy asked as she saw the dishes piled up in the sink
"No thanks Mandy. I've put Isla and Reuben to bed and Chloe has been resting as she isn't feeling too good" said Gino "What were you thinking Mack. Chloe isn't well and you come home like this"
"She'll be feeling worse when she sees the state of him" said Ella. "Hes well and truly out of it"
"I heard about what people are saying about you Ella but I can swear you wouldn't do anything to hurt Chas" said Gino "I've known Ella for years Mandy. Me Mack and Ella ran a market stall in Scotland and I trust her"
"I lost my job at the surgery Gino. Liam was horrid to me" said Ella who burst into tears.
"I'm sure we can find you a job at the bar it's opening again tomorrow" said Gino putting his arm around Ella.
"Sorry to leave you with this Gino but we need to head back" said Mandy putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher "Can we borrow Macks car to get back?"
"Are you going to manage him" Mandy asked feeling guilty and looking at Mack who was sprawled out on the settee holding the empty whisky bottle.
"Yes I've manged him before and I'm going to put him in the downstairs bedroom coz Melanie has taken the twins to her parents until after Chloe has her baby" Gino explained.
"Well fingers crossed she doesn't have it tonight" said Mandy.
"Her due date was yesterday Mandy and Mack goes and does this" said Gino.
Mandy and Ella looked at each other "Well if she goes into labour tonight give me a bell and I'll hold the fort while you take her in" said Mandy.
"Kerry is Chloe's birthing partner" said Gino "But she's still hobbling about on crutches"
"Don't you worry" said Mandy "Me and Ella can take care of Isla and Reuben while Kerry's incapacitated"
"Well good night and good luck" said Ella as she left with Mandy.
"That poor bloke has got his hands full" said Mandy.
"He sure has" sad Ella "Coping with a drunk and two toddlers and a pregnant woman who's gone past her due date and the bar opens tomorrow as well"
"We'll call round tomorrow Ella and help" said Mandy.
"It's the it's the least we can do after him offering me a job" said Ella as they got into the car.
