Grey's text posts pt. 10
Ellis haunts the narrative like a banshee: loud, obvious, clearly observable. A constant, haunting presence over Meredith's shoulder and a reminder of her mortality every step she takes as dread fills her chest because no matter what she does she will inevitably succumb to the same fate.
Bizzy haunts the narrative like a wraith: unseen and unheard but constantly felt. Her presence unnoticed by those around her except Addison, who sees her everywhere as she infects everything in Addison's life with a grievous melancholy that reminds her she will never, no matter how hard she tries, be free.
Random Grey's Anatomy Opinions (Part Three)
Even without the issue of them being step-siblings, Jackson and Maggie's romance was really awful because they were both just complete dicks to each other during the relationship and long after it ended.
I was disappointed when Link and Amelia broke up because they were really wholesome and adorable, but ultimately, I found it rewarding because Amelia's best relationship was with Kai.
Meredith naming her third kid Ellis was a stupid writing decision because while her mother may have been a complicated woman who had mental health issues, she was also the woman who constantly broke down Meredith and was so verbally and emotionally abusive to her.
Amelia's friendship with Richard was a really interesting one because they were both mentors to each other at various points.
Derek was often overly critical of people, but he was 100% right to be angry at Meredith for deliberately tampering with the clinical trial and endangering Zola's adoption.
The Post-It Note wedding was fun and I wish the show had done more unique wedding things with their other couples (I know they did the Bar wedding and the ferry boat wedding, but I mean something more unique than locations).
The Webber Method was always a bad idea, and Bailey was the only one who recognized it, showcasing how she was a good chief (despite what some fans may say).
Cristina not getting a Catherine Fox award, but Meredith getting one is still irritating to me because she was the best doctor out of her entire class.
Despite being the oldest characters, Richard and Catherine were oftentimes the most immature characters.
I liked Schmitt a decent amount, but his relationship with Nico was just not that compelling because they had drama after drama with very, very, very brief moments of happiness.
"Mommy."
"Meredith. You grew up."
"I did."
"It's a shame. It's awful being a grown-up. But the carousel never stops turning, you can't get of."
- Grey's Anatomy.
Season 11, Episode 23.
“You are my daughter. You can name yourself traumatized, you can try to run away, you can live and breathe at the beck and call of that man if you refuse to bear any shame, but the last thing you will ever be, as long as I walk this Earth, is fucking mediocre.”
I got into Grey’s Anatomy really hard over the last couple months and oh my god. I must scream. I am almost into Season 9.
Cristina and Meredith’s friendship resonates with me so much. I resonate so hard with Meredith having to go through the process of meeting and accepting her blended family as an adult and just…not wanting to engage for the longest time, because that’s how I feel about mine. Callie going on her bisexual journey made me feel so seen. I wish they kept Virginia Dixon on more because holy god I loved that there was an autistic WOMAN here for a hot minute. Bailey and Addison make me aspire to be the best I can be and I will be happy if I can even become HALF the amazing person she is. Adele was such an icon and watching her succumb to her Alzheimer’s made me cry because it stirred up memories of my own papa dying from a cancer that tricked us into thinking it was alzheimer’s.
Mark Sloan is fucking adorable and j love his journey from manwhore to loving but still kinda slutty co-parent. Derek is Derek, he’s a hardass but still awesome and I love the way he loves Meredith — and I adore how they become such amazing parents to Zola and LEARN about properly caring for a black baby’s hair. Though his time was short, Preston Burke had me smitten the entire time. don’t think I’ve needed a live-action character this biblically since Daniel Robatille (at least until I watch Sinners). Alex Karev is my brother’s favorite character and while I was uneasy about him at first, I love how he is journey from being a self-absorbed plastics guy to an advocate for children in pediatrics. George O’Malley was such a kind soul that I think everyone should aspire to be.
And I despise Owen Hung to the depths of my existence for not only trying to force Cristina to change into the woman he wanted, but acting like it was her fault their relationship sucked when he was not even attempting to try and meet her where she was. Burke might have slowly succumbed to changing Cristina to be what he wanted, but he REALIZED what he was doing and pulled out before he completely warped her. Owen’s own mental health problems are not an excuse for the way he treated Cristina.
God bless Shonda Rhimes. My fuckin god.
tear inducing realization I just had: meredith almost drowns after her mother calls her “nothing but ordinary”, as it completely shatters meredith’s heart. and then in season 10, when cristina leaves, her PARTING WORDS to meredith are “you are a brilliant surgeon with an EXTRAORDINARY mind”!!!! oh my heart!! how did I never see this parallel before?
