so I read a lesson in vengeance
The plot of A Lesson In Vengeance be like:
Since I am obsessed with you, I will try to set you up so you will take the blame for the killings I did for the book I'm currently writing since I am a method writer and other methods do not work for me. But do not worry, darling, I will dedicate the novel to you.
A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee
WORN PAGE LIBRARY (@wornpagelibrary) October BOTM: A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee
The future had felt like a distant and abstract construct, like a life that belonged to another Felicity—a mirror image of myself existing in some parallel world, a girl who stood a chance at living past the end of the year.
I’m so pumped for your next wlw book!!! Could you give any hints on what it’ll be about? I love your writing! ❤️
Yeah! It’s a gothic thriller/dark academia about a girl named Felicity who just returned to boarding school in upstate New York after taking a mental health year to deal with her grief over her girlfriend’s death. Once she gets back, she falls into the orbit of this new girl named Ellis who’s a Pulitzer-winning literary prodigy and has roped half the school into an obsessive cult of personality. Felicity’s trying to balance the rational explanation for her girlfriend’s death with her secret belief that she (and her girlfriend) were cursed by the witches who used to attend their school hundreds of years ago. Meanwhile, Ellis is writing a book about the witches’ mysterious deaths and recruits Felicity to help her research the school’s history. There’s lots of old books, spellcraft, tarot reading, tea, vinyl, blazers, lesbians, and murder.
Oh, and there are no men. At all. In the whole book. Not even one he/him pronoun, not even one male author or painter or composer or designer or male-owned brand is referenced. Every single character and person referenced in the book is female or nonbinary.
One underrated dark academic book I believe should be made into a movie is A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee. It is creepy; it gives off witchy vibes. And I believe that the whole plot could be well adapted into the movie since it leans more on the thriller side.
Bonus point: It has toxic lesbians in it.
Hi I don’t know who Ellis and felicity are but as a woman named Ellis I would like to know (anime girl <MY NAME> mentioned! Meme)
omg hi Ellis!! Ellis Haley and Felicity Morrow are the main characters of a novel called A Lesson In Vengence by Victoria Lee. it's fairly bogstandard "dark academia" but I find the insane things Ellis and Felicity do to each other quite charming. highly recommend if you don't mind sharing a name with a main character!!
