tried party all night | Anna and Elsa
Because she had the day off tomorrow from work, Anna decided to not set her alarm and spend the night in bed watching television. Of course, she had to stock up on snacks to make the next several hours as fulfilling as possible.
Her hands were full with not only grocery bags packed with treats but her normal purchases of cereal and juice boxes. Anna had gone shopping straight from work and was not only exhausted but longing to plop in her bed with a carton of Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey.
"Okay," she said to herself, managing to open the front door to her apartment, which she neglected to close and lock behind her. She dropped the heavy bags on the floor a few feet away from the entrance and put just the juice boxes in the refrigerator, grabbed her ice cream along with a spoon, a bag of oreos and went straight to her room.
The television was almost at full volume while she sat back in her mismatching pajamas of plaid boxer shorts and a striped tank top. The oreos were eaten as she had done as a child. Only the cream and the cookie part left on a paper plate at the foot of her bed.
Everything in her room was neat==tidy. All her belongings were organized by color. Everything seemed to have a place. Except for her bed. Her bed was messy with mismatched sheets.
It didn't take long for Anna to drift off into deep slumber, leaving the Ben & Jerry's was half eaten, on its side, melting. Her hand was loosely around a can of whipped cream while her other lay on her chest onto of her phone.
Anna was a deep sleeper, not even the terrified screams of the female character in the horror film on her television woke her up.
Signed Yours Truly (letter) | Anna and Elsa
The phone was pressed so hard against her cheek that it left a mark when she hung up the phone. What she had just been told sent a whirlwind of thoughts rushing through her mind. Was this a good thing? A bad thing? Doctor Hench had spoken to her very briefly explaining that he and Doctor Hook had spoken and came to the conclusion that it be best if she and Elsa start to reconnect. By letters. There was no reason given and when Anna had asked, her doctor beat around the bush and just told her to write as soon as possible, that is was urgent.
The worst ran through her mind. Was Elsa okay? Was she worse, sick? The worry built up and she could feel it in her throat. Shaking, not even thinking of the best scenario, Anna grabbed a piece of lined paper and a pen. She sat at her small kitchen table and took a deep breath. Even though Anna knew her handwriting might be a bit difficult to take apart in her current state, she wanted this to be personal and from the start.
'Elsa,' Anna sniffed, trying to compose herself and continued to write.
'My Doctor called. He said he talked with yours and they said it was urgent I write you.
Is everything okay?
I’m just curious. And worried.
Please write back as soon as possible.
I have attached a bunch of stamps for faster delivery.
If you don’t want to return this I understand but please have Doctor Hench call me back.
You can talk to me. I hope you know that.
Okay?
And remember that the owl chirps at midnight. Always.’ She smiled slightly at their old joke about secret meeting code words.
'Anna'
She looked over her letter and then folded it, placed it in an envelope. It took her only a few minutes to run into town to the post office. “I need this delivered today. Uh Please.”
