starter call | @eltramoyista; CAMILO
call it mother’s intuition, call it lucky timing, call it wanting a nibble herself as she sneaked out of her room and scurried to the kitchen. ( she’d rather not wake félix, not when all she planned was for a quick snag-and-grab. hopefully he wouldn’t notice her absence too much... whenever she returned. ) however the story starts, it ends the same: in a moonlit kitchen with a plate of imperfectly buttered slices of bread set between her and camilo.
pepa took a slice and pushed the plate closer to him. “ten,” she ordered. her voice was soft for their drowsy convenience, but that didn’t negate the directive easily found on her lips. sat across from him, she was tempted to push back his curls. a yawn got to her first, bread coming up like a fan to cover her mouth. there’s no cloud following her tonight, not even when she’d come across her son during her tiptoeing.
after chewing quietly, looking at him, thinking-thinking-thinking, she murmurs, “how long have you been up?”
