I think the only thing I like about "Harum Scarum" is this edit. *Well, to be fair I like all the other Elvis movies but that's not the point here.* It wasn't me who did it... it comes from some Elvis fan account of Instagram but I won't remember the name, so if anybody knows, please, let me know.

I rewatched the memphis mafia documentary and it reminded me of an edit I made for them a while ago

Red West is narrating and I think he just says everything perfectly…I can’t imagine how special it must have been to have shared a lifetime with Elvis Presley. I sincerely hope, if there is a way, that they are all together again <3

the inspiration for the edit below was conceived on august 16. i only wish i’d been able to share it that day because the lyrics to this song perfectly capture how fans have experienced elvis for the past forty-six years.

what sealed the deal for me was that, on the 16th, someone on the graceland insiders page posted a screenshot of the front lawn cam. there were at least five silhouettes of e that could be made out from the shadows that the trees cast onto the house. y’all when i say i had chills…i could’ve burst into tears. elvis’s spirit was all over graceland that day. and really, his spirit is always with everybody who holds him close to their hearts. that’s why the fan relationship with elvis is truly like no other. he is in everything, if our hearts are open to finding him in the most hidden of places.

the following poem, written by clare harner, was one of elvis’s favorites and he quoted from it often. harner also died in 1977. the connection between the two only leaves me with the certainty that this poem was meant, even if unintentionally, for elvis and for us. ✨

For the ever so lovely Marina, I put off studying (oops lol) and spent two hours doing these (and something else but that’s for your inbox only. Sounds dirty but it’s a work in progress …) She’s managed to pump out The Proposal & Ch. 13 of A Whole Man last week and they were both absolute masterpieces. When I found A Whole Man I was adamant that I would not read Elvis’ fan-fiction because I found not a lot of people could do him justice but Marina’s work was so well written and beautiful, I got sucked right in.
