Karina loves your attention. She loves to come home after a long day of work to your love and kisses- it's like her safe haven and she's not scared to admit it either.

If it wasn't for the fact that you met Mina that night, you would have scolded Nayeon for dragging you along to that party till the end of time.

Parties weren't really your scene. Your best friend knew that, but it didn't stop her from somehow convincing you every time. You already knew how it was going to go - the same way as always. You'd walk in, make some small talk with Nayeon's friends, excuse yourself to grab a drink and hide out for the rest of the night.

And so it went.

You leaned back against a wall in some corner and looked around as you felt the intense bass boom all through your body. The music was so loud, and you stared at a group of people wondering how they could even hear each other speak.

That's when you saw her. Her friends seemed to be wrapped up in what seemed like an intensifying drinking game, but she stared off, daydreaming. You quickly realised you were smiling as you looked, no stared, at her.

Your realisation came a beat too late though, because she already caught you. In an attempt to damage control you tried looking away, but when you glanced at her a second later she was still looking.

She had this pretty smile on her face. It was soft, and her furrowed eyebrows made it apparent that she was amused at your antics. You chuckled, and felt your cheeks warm up. There was no turning back now, so you might as well go for it right?

You took a second to gather up all the courage you could, and took a deep breath as you walked her way. She watched you coming, and cocked her head with a grin. Her friends were too wrapped up in their game to even acknowledge you, which you were grateful for. You weren't interested in them anyway. You wanted her.

"Could I offer you a drink?" you asked. "I can't imagine that this party would be any good sober."

"It's not." She laughs, and your heart flutters.

"Well," you said with a sheepish grin and extended your hand. "Come with me. I'll make this all more bearable for you."

When she grabbed your hand, you didn't hesitate to intertwine your fingers with hers. Maybe it was your slight intoxication that gave you the confidence, but it felt like the right thing to do and that adorable blush on her cheeks encouraged that idea even more.

At the table with drinks, you enthusiastically guided her through all the options. Although, you didn't shy away from honesty. So when she giggled and asked you, "and which one of these is actually good?

You couldn't help but blurt out. "None of them. The best thing on the table is the water. I can't lie."

It wasn't until she lightly squeezed your hand and laughed, you realised you were still holding onto each other. It made you smile.

"Hm, thank you for your honesty. I'll be honest and say i was going to go with the water anyway."

You fake-gasped and that made her laugh more. "And you let me do a whole spiel on types of alcohol?"

"Yeah, it was cute. How could I interrupt?" the girl laughed as she poured herself the water. "I'm actually allergic to alcohol."

This made you laugh, and she cutely pouted at that. "Really?" when she nodded, you grinned. "So you accepted my offer because...?"

"Because you're cute." as your grin turned into a satisfied smirk, she hit you on your shoulder. "but you just wanted to hear that, didn't you?"

"Yeah." You laughed, and appreciated her directness. "So, 'girl that's allergic to alcohol and thinks that i am cute', do you also have a name?"

She rolled her eyes. but the smile on her lips gave her amusement away. "Mina."

"Mina..." you repeated. "Pretty name. It fits you."

Mina grimaced jokingly. "That was so cheesy."

"Cheesy, huh? You didn't like that?" Mina leaned against the wall that you were previously leaned onto, and you joined her. She laughed and shook her head. "Hmm, then why are you blushing?"

Another hit to your shoulder. "Shut up."

You both laughed, and there was a moment of silence. The first one between you two. And it wasn't awkward, it was comfortable. For a second, you recalled the nerves you felt when walking up to her in the first place and then you realised all of those had dissapeared. Talking to her was so easy. Being with her was so easy. And you liked that more and more, with every moment you spent together.

You took a moment to look around the party, as you were before. Somehow, your friend group and hers had fused and the stakes in the drinking game seemed to have raised as almost all of them encouraged some guy to "chug, chug, chug."

Mina turned to you, and pointed at them. "So, that's not really your thing either then?"

"Not at all." You shook your head and glanced at her. Another smirk played at your lips, as you said, "I'd rather be alone with you."

Mina chuckled and hid her face away behind her hands, but not before you caught the red tint on her cheeks again. Ofcourse, you proceeded to tease her for it, and ofcourse, she swatted you on your shoulder (again).

As you looked at the beautiful girl next to you and felt the butterflies in your stomach intensify, you concluded that maybe coming to this party was not such a bad idea after all.

Nayeon was right, and as you caught her eyeing you and Mina with a knowing smirk, you knew she'd never let you hear the end of it.
