Before the war

A new beginning in a new City with the help of old skills and the usual charm. The most important part was getting some work on the down low. She didn’t have any skills that would get her a regular job, and in general she would rather have a job that would keep her in the shadows. 

She liked staying in a setting that didn’t ask too many questions or cared about her Species, which was rather ambiguous and she was planning to keep it that way. Her pointy ears and pale skin pointed to either a Dark Elf or a Light Elf, but there were other Species as well that had these ears. She was neither afraid or hurt by fire nor ice which was a strange combination, but not one most people were able to figure out. 

Either way, it was time to get in with at least one of the big underground organisations Fabledale had to offer. 

It took her a few days until she found one of the places the Dusk Coats frequented and it was almost too easy for her to sneak in. She didn’t want to be stopped at the door and be told to come back later, she’d rather impress someone in charge by showing off her skills of breaking and entering. 

Once inside, she smiled seeing that she was standing in a bar and looked around when someone ran into her, a young man. At first he was apologetic until he realised that hers was a new face. “ Who are you? Why are you here? You’re not supposed to be in here.” he said and she could see that he was going to throw her out - and she couldn’t have that.

“ What? Me? Of course I’m supposed to be here. I beloooooong... to her! Over there. Yes, she asked me to come.” while she spoke, her eyes drifted over the crowd until she spotted a woman that she hoped could be made into a fast friend. Only after she called her out, she saw the ears and realised she had picked the one person around her that wouldn’t be able to lie for her. Grand. 

But now she was already in this mess, so she had to get herself out again. “ It’s my time to buy you a drink right?” She asked her and walked over to her, hoping that this was enough to make a good impression on the stranger.

Before the War - Tavern

@ember-lyretail A short, cold gust of wind entered the tavern as the door opened, making a few of the candles lined around the room and on various tables flicker, before the door had closed again. A tall man had entered, most of his frame hidden by the dark grey travelling cloak he wore, the hood up. Some of the patrons cast a quick glance at him, while others paid him no mind. He was not in any way visibly armed, and so talk and laughter resumed almost immediately, while he seemed to look around for a place to sit. It didn’t take long for him to single out the person he had been looking for, seeing as she was one of the very few people sitting alone.

With a purposeful stride he closed the distance to her table. Smiling beneath his hood, he laid his left hand onto the table, hoping to catch her attention. “Is this seat, by any chance, taken?”, he asked in a deep melifluous voice, nudging his head slightly in the direction of the bench across her seat at the table.

Without truly waiting for an answer, the stranger sat down across from her. “I have heard the most curious things about you, Little Fae. Wouldn’t you know it, some strange girl helping out a band of merry businessmen about to make a bad deal! What ever in the world would make you do such a selfless thing?” Finally, the man took off his hood, eyeing her with a curious, anticipating look in his eyes.
