"That damn bird, look at all that trouble he's gotten me into." His wings and clothes drenched, he glanced out the window before putting out the butt of his cigarette. It was starting to clear up some, he thought when that brat came home for the first time. He thought about how spoiled he was, how stressful it was to find him again, and then the headache it was to live with him now. Whenever he thought about him he grew angry, it was as if he did not have a brother, but instead an enemy. He looked down in his daze and realized he had gotten some hot embers onto the feathers of his hand, he shook them off and looked at the scorch marks and thought about how he had thrown his own brother into a creek. How he just let the others think he was gone for good. He thought how they both were just some kid's imaginary friends and he held no control over the situation, and that made him feel weak. He thought about all the hate he harbored towards Ko and realized it wasn't him hated, but himself. He was the enemy.

'VRRRRRRRMMMMMMMM,' Ringo started the vacuuming ritual extra early this morning, irritating the birds immensely. It had been been four months since he had moved in with his now tangible imaginary friends. Already they had it up to their ears with being woken up during the day by the boy's persistence to vacuum the house. They didn't care if he was their friend, they were going to make it clear that if he wanted to stay in the house he had to be quiet during the day. Right as they stomped into the living room, Ringo switched the machine off. "Hey, there's boxes for you two on the couch." They glared at him as they made their way to the couch. Opening the boxes they received a sweater each. "What is this for?" Ko asked. "Thanks for letting me move in with you two! It's winter time so I figured sweaters were in order. I got Jane to fix them up so you can get in and out of them easily with your wings!" They got so overwhelmed they forgot about wanting to complain about the vacuuming. They were going to brush it off but without warning he started it again and they ripped the chord out of the wall. "STOP. VACUUMING. SO EARLY." and stomped off.
I think if anyone of them drank it'd be Embrum. ok nevermind maybe the two assholes but they're on a different plane. It'd be weird though, I imagine it'd be how the pioneers discovered alcohol. Being within Ringo's mind, there was no alcohol. So now he'd in this tangible world, he discovers this strange liquid that burns your throat, but if you drink enough you can kind of fog your way through thinking so he's like YEAH WOW IS THIS A POTION? and ends up drinking lots. Nobody knows though I'm sure there's separate guidelines for imaginary friends gone real, but nonetheless he doesn't know proper drinking safety so I think it ends up harming some and maybe he reveals that way? Either he reveals because A) "embrum why are you drinking" "because i tried ot kill you" or B) "maN doy yolu have anahy i dea HOQ MUCH i lov eyoua? I feel real bad almsot kiling you but its ok we love eachother now" I also wonder if it would harm Ringo in any way?
Since it is apparently "erica reveals all kinds of things about her characters" evening, I'm going to take this time to talk about Embrum. Embrum is the older brother of Ko and though I don't have it all worked out, they may or may not be separate owl species? They are bird people but not a universe tangible (well not their family, they become actual beings later on) they are imaginary friends of Ringo. I still haven't worked out the link, what separates what all Ringo created from what happened naturally through the cracks of what he formed.
Anyways, wherever they come from, they liked Ko more than Embrum. This is where I think maybe embrum was a foreign burr than the others. Shit went down and during a bad time in Ringo's life, embrum kidnapped ko and threw him off a cliff into a lake. Ko didn't/never/doesn't know it was embrum. Anyways, ko handles himself for awhile after being picked up by a type of mother figure but things go down hill, same with embrum things go down hill so he ends up saving ko later on. But then he has this guilt because ko HAS NO IDEA HIS BROTHER?? TRIED KILLING HIM??
So then due to strange circumstances this kid they remember from their childhood shows up at their house to sell them a vacuum. They always knew he wanted to do that. Hey, big fucking surprise BUDDIES, YOU'RE FUCKING IMAGINARY HAHAHAHA. So then even when they become real, embrum is still EXTREMELY distrubed by all this. He wants to give the benefit of the doubt that he didn't try to kill his brother, it was from something else. It must have been ringo's doing. But he feels so shitty that even if it was not his doing, he still tried. AND KO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW. Ringo doesn't know/remember so now you have this asshole owl guy who is overly protective of his brother but still abuses him enough for people to think he's a real jerk. If people thought he was nice he'd hate himself more because no you just don't think people who have attempted to kill their brothers are nice people.
Ko is aware that he was no longer in his home from a young age, but he assumed it was because the village hated him. That tears Embrum up even more because no!!! Everyone looked for him. So that already makes Ko bummed but occasionally he'll ask about the village, he'll ask why people disliked him, he'll ask what happened to mom and dad (that were his biological parents, not embrum's!) and it makes him so sick because does he tell him? Does he let it be?
"You have your friends, I have mine," small blonde boy cried out. "Take your fantasies, take the imaginary, they belong here no more." Clutching onto the imaginary friends of his own, he sobbed. The little birds he held chanted all at once, "How false! How false! How false!"
The burrs stay up really late and they sleep all day. I think whenever they and Ringo do hang out there's a lot of issues. They want to stay up all night but Ringo always wears off, i think they'd put a blankey on him and chatter in a tree to not wake him up. In the day time they'd subconsciously nest and fall asleep he'd try to not make much sounds either even though whenever they aren't all being cordial to each other, he always vacuums and upsets them on accident.
did i write already on this account how i'm pretty sure ko and embrum prim and groom each other? They probably make sure to keep each other's hair is combed and probably pick at each other's pin feathers. Also due to having wings the back of their clothes have large slits with buttons to close and they have to help each other with the buttons
