Current timeline: Exile Usagi left for Neo Edo early, around 12 years old and had to flee by the time he was 13 (probably 13 and a half). He’s in the battle nexus / on the run from age 14 to 16

I got some original designs below too but I like how this drawing turned out better, and I think this design is simpler. I added color schemes that match with Big Mama’s uniform. He's got more violet blues and some emerald greens now. She also slapped a big old ribbon on him for funsies, it conveniently covers the symbol on his shirt. Oh, he also still has his topknot but only sometimes.

Right now I’m thinking for EMD Yuichi works as a samurai for Big Mama, her bodyguard as well as her champion. He might call himself a samurai still but I really don’t think he fully believes it as much as he used to.

I'm intending for this AU to explore legacy and the consequences of Yuichi's recklessness and heroics and how they might clash.

I might mix these designs together in future drawings but I consider the one below a rough draft. I took a lot of inspiration from Miyamoto Usagi’s armor from the cover of Samurai
