Ever have an emergency and you weren't prepared? It happens to the best of us but I have you covered! Here is my emergency preparedness li
Do you have your 72 hour kit?
When we think of emergency preparedness, we typically think about having the essentials like water, canned food, and flashlights. But we may forget about an important part of our families when it comes to planning for emergencies – our pets.
Designed with pets in mind, Pet Evac Pak is a line of emergency packs for both dogs and cats.
Each pack contains everything you need to be prepared for an emergency, evacuation, or even when you’re just planning to travel.
How To Make Sure You & Your Home Are Prepared For Anything
When it comes to your home, it pays to be prepared for anything. You can never predict what will happen, and we always think we’re safe. The truth is quite different. Only last year, our house was flooded, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. It destroyed carpets, electrical wiring, and the structure of…

Car Emergency Packs (From the perspective of an emergency responder)
This winter is my first time driving in snow, so before it got too cold my step dad and I sat down to decide what I should put in my car in case of an emergency. He is a firefighter, so he knows what is helpful in an emergency situation. This is the list and reasoning he gave me:
Flashlight (phones these days have flash lights built in, but you don't want to waste you phone battery. You can get a flashlight that has a "strobe" feature, that is great for signaling where you are.)
drinking water (It doesn't have to be a gallon of water, just two or three water bottles, just in case. Water can be used to cook, wash injuries, cool things down, etc. Just try to remember to refill your bottles after you use one!)
granola/protein bars (Cliff bars are good, but expensive. Find a brand you actually like in your price range, and make a note of the shelf life.)
rain poncho(s) (Ugly? Yes. Helpful? TOTALLY. Sometimes you need a handsfree solution when you have a flat in the middle of a thunder storm.)
jumper cables (This is a given, but you would be surprised how many people don't have a set with them at all times.)
Jack kit (+spare tire) (Another one that seems obvious, but make sure you have one!)
extra batteries/external battery for phone (To give you a couple more hours in an emergency situation)
first aid kit (This is a good one, but shop around and find what fits your needs. I added a small bottle of advil to mine, since I get rampant headaches.)
blanket (Nothing fancy, just something to keep you warm)
duck tape (Duh.)
gloves (Sanitary, keeps you warm, but also for things you just don't want to touch with your bare hands)
emergency money (Small bills! Something you can pay for a taxi or call for help with.)
car manual (Important if you are trying to fix something yourself, or just giving information to AAA)
tire pressure gage (Most cars have them, but mine didn't. Here is a reminder to make sure you aren't also missing it!)
rags (Burn them, use them to stop bleeding, give your tires traction, etc, etc, etc)
spare set of clothes/shoes (Hypothermia is a bitch, having a spare set of sweats can keep you alive in a lot of cases.)
paramedic shears (you can get some HERE. They can cut through seat belts, thin metal, etc. Very useful in an emergency)
A waterproof box to put everything in
Feel free to add to the list! Stay Safe!
Pretty ballerinas: emergency shoes!
Zeppe e tacco 12 ci ditruggono?
