APARTMENT 143 (EMERGO) (2012)

This was just on Netflix, but now it’s gone.  You won’t have a chance to watch it.  You’re not missing anything.  The screencaps below are from the YouTube trailer.

Here we have a team of researchers investigating a family beset with paranormal activities.  There’s a harried dad, a sullen daughter, and a cute kid.  The mom was apparently sick and died in a car accident.  The trio of investigators set up their cameras and science equipment and we have the typical escalation of weird noises, things moving around, and apparitions.  There’s a bit of family drama too.  The daughter HATES the father, who doesn’t know how to deal with that.

The lead investigator thinks that they’re encountering a poltergeist caused by the psychic energy of one of the family members.  He calls in a medium and he’s trying to speak to the spirits, but then the daughter becomes possessed!  Shit!  She accuses the dad of something bad and tosses him around the room.  After that they have an awkward lunch.  The team confronts the dad, who admits that he hated his wife and she was seriously mentally ill.  After an especially bad fight he fled with the kids and the wife went out driving and became deceased (to coin a term).  Then the lead investigator asks, “have you had your daughter checked out?”  The dad is like, “why?” and the investigator responds, “because she’s showing signs of schizophrenia, LIKE YOUR WIFE.” 

Then, naturlich, the daughter starts to float around and there’s wind and noise.  They finally calm her down and she’s laughing about the entire thing because to be honest that looked like a lot of fun.  The police and medics arrive and the investigators are packing up.  CASE CLOSED!  Or not?  They leave one camera and that’s when the real ghost appears. 

This is a mixed bag.  Even considering that this was made in 2012 (five years ago now), the found footage material isn’t anything new or groundbreaking.  The plot is a bit different than normal, in that the dysfunctional family is the focus of much of the drama (and there are some uncomfortable fights between the dad and the girl), but the film can’t seem to commit to its core.  Is this about the psychic illness of the daughter, or is there a real ghost/spirit at play here?  This maybe would have been a better movie if it had stuck with one concept.

Hafta sonu neşeniz olabilecek eğlenceli bir film anlatımı. EMERGO / LANETLİ RUH (2011) Paranormal Activity tarzı paranormal filmlere karşı ilginiz varsa sevebileceğiniz bir film diyebilirim. Ha bu gün ha yarın izlesem mi izlemesem mi falan diye düşünürken artık vaktin geldiğini düşündüm ve filmi izlemeye karar verdim. Pek çok paranormal tarz filmde olduğu gibi, bu filmde de yine amatör kamera çekim tarzı ön planda. Bu kez hem evin çeşitli yerlerine döşenmiş harekete duyarlı kameralar, hem de el kameraları ile olayları takip ediyoruz. Değişen bir şey yok yani. Makyajları biraz yetersiz bulmama rağmen bazı sahnelerin efektleri beklediğimden daha iyi çıktı. Hayaletlerle muhatap olduğumuz sahnelerin şiddeti ve insanların yerden tavana savrulmaları fena değildi. İzlenebilir, fakat vasat bir film olduğunu belirteyim ve hemen filmi anlatmaya başlayayım. Bir aile; iki çocuğu ile birlikte dul bir adam. Kendini mahallenin abazan kadınlarından korumaya çalışan taze dul Alan, çocukları için yaşamaya çalışmaktadır. Mahallenin gözü dönmüş kadınları ile başa çıkamayan Alan, kendine yeni bir başlangıç yapar ve bulunduğu mahalleyi terk ederek, kiralar ucuz diye Esenyut’a taşınır. Yeni taşındıkları evde önceleri her şey iyi giderken, bazı garip şeyler olamaya başlar ve Alan, tam abazan kadınlardan kurtuldum derken, bu kez de gözü dönmüş hayaletlerle karşılaşır. Bu durumdan oldukça rahatsız olan Alan ve çocukları, bir süre sonra paranormal olaylarla ilgilenen ve hayaletleri evden kovma garantisi veren bir firmaya baş vurur. Eve gelen hayalet avcıları arasındaki bir medyum, daha eve girer girmez bu evde tuhaf bir varlığın hissine kapılır. Ekip vakit kaybetmeden her yere kamera döşer, mikrofon falan yerleştirir ve hayaletler için pusuda beklenir. Bu bekleme sonrası, evdeki hayaletlerin yanı sıra ortaya çıkması gereken bazı sırlar da vardır. Alan’ın karısı bir trafik kazasında ölmüştür fakat gerçek bu mudur?
