Beware that creeping up your spine, for it might not be what it seems. The only way to save yourself is scream in terror otherwise the tingler will get you.... Released in 1959 the tingler is a crazy horror movie which tells of a strange and mysterious parasite that exists in the human body which feeds on fear. Produced and Directed by the King of gimmicks William Castle. For this movie he developed perception for a few select theatres. This percepto featured nodes in the chairs to vibrate and give the audience the impression that the tingler was present and the only way to save themselves was to scream very loudly. Vincent Prince effortlessly leads the movie. Providing both wit and a dramatic exposition. His character is a real highlight. The movie was a B movie and the special effects had me chuckling a lot. Particularly when you see the tingler as I could see the string pulling the puppet. Its campy and quite a fun movie which is a delight.
