dropping swears like cherry bombs never meant to say a word to make you burn so bad girls do it well - told you once my father was a mad man and you drew arrows in the sand, said they go places we can't. I covered your eyes as you washed your bruises in the tide, promised he'd never use you again. you never said a word and I remember enough to know you turned the ocean red that day, scrubbed hands in salt, torn wounds. I remember we grew up too soon. flowers bloomed on your face that night, red like cherries, they fell down.
