Iron Lung (2026)

Iron Lung is absolutely fantastic, but NOT emetophobia safe.

There are three instances to keep in mind.

Firstly, near the beginning of the movie, when Simon (the main character, played by Markiplier) is pulled up to the surface, there is a moment where they're welding him more securely into the submarine before dropping him back down. He will, in an attempt to get their attention again, take a picture. He will be scolded about radiation. During (or immediately after) the scolding, the man who was welding him in drops down momentarily for an off-screen triggering moment. It is brief, with a small retching sound and splashing noise. It lasts only a moment.

Secondly, much later, after Simon surfaces from the blood ocean, when he returns to the submarine, dry, there will be a few seconds of notice before he drops to his knees and [v-word]s lots of blood onto the floor. He goes back and continues three or four times. The scene is quite long and the sounds are quite realistic. This lasts for roughly 30 seconds. I had to plug my ears and close my eyes, but I could still hear it, as I was watching in theatres.

Thirdly, once Simon recovers the data from the lost ship, as Ava asks, an audio clip plays. There is someone in the background who [v-word]s, followed by very concerned and angry lecturing from the woman recording the audio. The person in the background does this once or twice more. I'd personally avoid this entire scene. Essentially, they're discussing how they think food could be synthesized from the blood ocean, but the woman recording the audio doesn't think it should be. The two women argue about this.

Approx. 10:00 - 10:10 •A,V• The zombie, Slurp, eats honey and then v*. After math can be seen for a few seconds until scene changes. Full audio and visual.

Approx. 9:36 •A,V• Slurp falls asleep in his food dish then wakes up and spits out the food.

At one point, the character played by Kate Winslet and her husband are eating a cake. She says she starts to feel nauseous and suddenly v* on the table. The scene is very, very explicit, and for the rest of the film she keeps saying she feels n* — but she only has one r* episode at the end after drinking some alcohol.

Approx. 8:16 - 8:36 •A,V• Just after Lucy is taken, she sees legs on the floor through a doorway and she v*. Full audio and visual. Aftermath can be seen on her until she wipes it off with a tissue.
