caught in the act | stiles + elijah
This was the first time Stiles had been truly alone on the floor of offices where the higher ups of Erudite were found. With everyone between getting the school ready for the new school year, and preventing a mass outcry concerning the dead bodies that were popping up around every corner, it left few people back at the compound. This was the first real chance that Stiles was able to do what he really wanted when he asked to work with Elijah all those weeks ago. Having been working with him for a good while now, Stiles was able to learn who would and wouldn't be at their desk, when and where people were supposed to be, and which would be the best places to sneak around out of sight if need be. He'd practically worked and gathered 'intel' for an occasion such as this.
There were only two key cards that allowed entrance into Elijah's office, and since the man himself rarely ever parted with his own, only once to get Stiles to open the door for him as he brought in boxes of files that needed to be digitalised. That too however Stiles had found a way around. The other key was with the security desk, and swindling it behind the back of the sleeping guard was alarmingly easy. And that's how he found himself alone on the top floor of the Erudite compound. Elijah had gone to some Council meeting and since Stiles wasn't scheduled to be in a lab with him for another hour, he figured that that was how much time he had to do what he needed. He only hoped that it would be enough time.
By the time half an hour had passed, Stiles' level of frustration and impatience was reaching an all time high. He hadn't given Elijah nearly enough credit. If he really was hiding something (and Stiles knew he was), he was damned good at making sure nobody else could find it. Stiles had learned a long time ago how to hack a computer terminal and did so effortlessly, which was why he could tell that there was definitely something that needed to be found at Elijah's desk. Stiles was so engrossed in trying to unlock a new wall of security, one that had a symbol that looked a lot like Erudite's but was different; altered, that he didn't notice the shadow of a figure heading towards this very office.
