About "es brennt":
I like Till’s new song—a lot, actually.
I like the guitar part and the drums. The melody is good, and Till’s voice is beautiful.
And best of all: the lyrics are really good again!
It’s a reckoning of the bland, cookie-cutter fare that’s quite usual in the arts.
Whether in music, the film industry, or literature: There’s hardly anything that stands out from the crowd. Nothing extraordinary, innovative, or even provocative. Everything is supposed to please everyone, and no one’s supposed to step on ones toes. Everyone’s afraid to take a risk; everyone fears being canceled. Everything becomes mediocre. And the irony: this mediocrity becomes the measure of all things!
And about the MV of "es brennt":
It is exactly the footage that fits the title. It shows a colorful, quirky group of artists who are passionate about their art and simply enjoyed a great time together. I don't begrudge them!
(Oh, what a long post! I'm just lost in thought right now.)
