Alison Today was the day. Alison stared into the mirror in her bedroom, listlessly brushing her blonde hair. She was gonna do it today- she was gonna go to get her little situation taken care of. Alison felt butterflies in her stomach, and not the good kind. These kind felt more like a brick dropping down inside of her. She was scared. What if something went wrong and she ended up dying? She knew that was almost impossible unless you got a back alley abortion, but still. She gathered her stuff, heading down the stairs and outside to wait for Emily.
Emily felt slightly scared for Alison, mainly because she had no idea what her best friend was feeling nor how to help her with the situation. She only did what she knew best which was being there for the blonde now that she needed a friend. She was still stunned that Alison managed to open up to her but she wasn't going to question it. Heading out of her house and down the porch steps with her bag and her car keys, Emily slid into the driver seat and started the ignition, backing out of her driveway and onto the street where she began driving to Alison's. Her mind was scrambled as she drove, mainly hoping Alison would be alright afterwards. She was scared for the girl and she didn't know how she could manage to make a decision because as always, Emily herself would be undecided. Pulling up in front of the curb of Alison's house, she spotted the girl and unlocked the door, waiting for her to get herself comfortable in the passenger seat. "Hey Ali..." She said softly, leaning over to give her a warm hug.
Alison pulled the passenger side door open, getting in and pulling her seatbelt across herself. "Hey," she said quietly to Emily, letting her friend hug her. This was an unusual situation for Alison, one that she'd never been in before, and had no clue how to even begin dealing with. She never needed someone to lean on. She was used to being the strong one, the one who always managed to keep herself together (like when the Jenna Thing happened- Alison comforted the girls and then made them swear not to tell after that.) If she had to depend on anyone else she was glad it was Emily, though. She had always trusted Emily the most. "I guess we should just... get this over with," she sighed, handing over the paper with the directions to the abortion clinic that she had printed off of Mapquest.
Emily let a small smile flicker across her lips and it disappeared as soon as it started only because nothing could make it easier for Alison with what she was going to face today. She pulled back from the hug and looked at the blonde. Just as she was about to say something, Alison handed over the directions and Emily took them into her hand, her brown eyes skimming over the words as she set them down next to her. With a nod, she started up the ignition in silence as she pulled away from the curb of Alison's house. Following the directions, Emily turned onto the main highway that would lead them away from Rosewood. It only took her a few traffic lights until they were nearly as close to leaving the town.Pressing the brake at a red light, Emilychewed on the inside of her lip, starting to feel nervous for Alison. This was a big step and once it was done, there wasn't a way to go back.Without much thinking, her hand laced with Alison's, holding her hand comfortingly. "You're sure about this?"she asked.
Alison stared out the window as Emily began to drive, lost in thought. Things were silent between them now, something that almost never happened, but she wasn't in a very talkative mood for obvious reasons, so she didn't mind much. She felt her heart flutter a little as Emily laced their hands together, looking over at her friend as she began to speak. "Yeah..." she said, slowly nodding her head. "I'm sure. It's the right thing to do, Em." And even though going and getting this done was probably the hardest thing Alison would ever have to do in her life, and no matter how guilty she was already starting to feel before they had even gotten there, she knew that it was the best decision. Any kid of hers would be seriously messed up. She was incapable of loving anyone but a select handful of people, and once her parents found out she was pregnant she'd be out on the street in a heartbeat.
Emily nodded at Alison, looking around at the road before driving straight and going towards the side street where she had to make a turn that led them away from rosewood. Her hand remained laced with Alison's as she drove, wanting to make sure she felt somewhat safe. She knew that nothing would end up going well if anyone else found out about Alison's pregnancy, or somewhat pregnancy. Biting on her bottom lip, Emily occasionally glanced over at Alison to make sure she was okay. Her eyes wandered to the directions as they drove, wanting to make sure they didn't get lost. The drive felt longer than just half an hour with all of the thoughts going through her mind. Upon arriving, the brunette pulled into a parking spot and turned the engine off. "Uh, well we are here...." She said quietly.
Alison nodded her head as Emily announced they were there. She gathered her stuff, shutting her eyes and taking a quick moment to herself before she got out of the car. She was Alison DiLaurentis, she told herself, and she could do this. She was gonna be fine. She opened the car door, getting out before she grabbed Emily's hand again. She didn't want to be alone, not even for a moment. The two girls headed towards the front of the clinic. The blonde girl headed to the counter, signing in so that they knew she was there, and then she headed over to the chairs in the waiting room, sitting down beside Emily.
Emily walked alongside Alison to the clinic as she felt her grab her hand, looking down briefly as she squeezed her hand gently. She comfortingly used her thumb to brush the skin of her hand as they walked, opening the door for the blonde and then sat down in one of the chairs. She waited patiently, fiddling with her fingers. Looking over as Alison sat next to her, Emily held her hand again. "You'll get through it." she said. It wasn't long until Alison got called in and Emily was directed to stay in the waiting room.
Alison stood up when a nurse came to the door, calling her name. "I'll see you later, then," she told Emily, attempting to paste a brave look on her face. She followed the nurse through the door, following her down the hallway and into an exam room. The appointment was relatively short, but it felt like a lifetime to Alison. First she got a physical checkup and an ultrasound, and then the doctor talked to her, asking about her life and why exactly she wanted to terminate the pregnancy. Finally, the doctor sedated her, which didn't put her to sleep but relaxed her. She shut her eyes as it finally happened, not wanting to see what exactly they were doing to her. The doctor made her rest for a while after they were finished, but then finally let her go. She had to sign even more papers and pay, and then she headed back into the waiting room to Emily. "It's done."
Emily sat in the waiting room, eventually beginning to move her leg as she bounced it up and down in anxiety. She wasn't sure what was going on in that room and she could only hope that Alison was okay. Well, as okay as this situation could get. She walked up to the front occasionally, asking if she was done or how it was going but as usual, she didn't get much of an answer each time. With a sigh, she sat down defeated, looking over at the door that Alison disappeared through earlier. She leaned back in her chair, trying to calm her nerves but it was nearly impossible. Alison was her best friend, and she couldn't stand the thought of her having to do this alone. She wanted to kill the guy who did this to her and make sure he wouldn't be able to repeat his actions to anyone else, but even she knew that was impossible. Minutes passed slowly until Emily heard the door open, looking over to see Alison. At her words, Emily nodded a little, pulling her arms out for a hug. "You're strong..." she paused, trying to muster up more words but she was simply at a loss for them.
