~cole is ambidextrous and can/does fight with two swords at once, and he’s actually better at swordfighting than picket (the blackstar soldiers literally had to attack him in groups for it to be a challenge for him lol)
~smalls loves classical music, and if pianos exist in natalia, he plays piano (he doesn’t get to during the time the series takes place but he does before and after it)
~heather actually doesn’t read physical books a ton, she prefers listening to people telling stories
~smalls is a bookworm though. and i feel like he’d like history and hearing about his ancestors. and he and his father-in-law like bond over history (and picket sometimes joins in)
~wilfred and airen adopt hewson’s kids and tell helmer jr. stories about his namesake (i didn’t come up with this headcanon btw)

aaaa i made this so long ago but i finished rereading green ember to my mom and i had forgotten some of my favorite interactions with kyle(n) ! honestly, he’s one of my favorite characters, so i tried to draw one of his scenes >_< backgrounds aren’t my favorite to do, but i hope this is okay!

A raptor landed into Akolan, Garten hopped off the back of the bird onto the ground, then outstretched his hand toward Wilfred, Wilfred ignored it, he slowly slid down onto the ground.
“What's wrong with you?” Garten asked.
Wilfred looked up. “Huh? Oh! Uhh….” Wilfred quickly thought of a lie. “I was just kinda hoping I would be allowed into my old room.”
“Why would you be?” Garten asked, grabbing Wilfred's arm and leading him down the streets.
“I don't know, just kinda hoping I guess, lots of memories there.” Wilfred said.
“Forget those! You're here to forget about all that nonsense!” Garten said.
“Where are we going?” Wilfred asked.
“Why do you keep asking that?” Garten asked.“It's a reasonable request.” Wilfred said.“
Fine, if you have to know.” Garten pointed far ahead towards a house with a white doe entering the door.
“With them.” Garten said. “They said they'd take you in, you'll get your assignment tomorrow.”
Wilfred didn’t answer, he just followed, pulling his hand away from his older brother, Garten looked back, but said nothing, just continued going forward.
Garten knocked on the door once they got up to it.
“Open up Sween!” He yelled.
“Sween!? Sween is here!?" Wilfred thought to himself.
The door opened. “Hello?” Sween said. “Garten? What are you doing here?” Sween asked timidly.
“You're taking in a new rabbit, you know him well.” Garten gestured towards Wilfred and smirked at Sween's shocked face when she looked over.
“Wilfred?!” Sween said.
“Have your sorry reunion without me.” Garten shoved Wilfred into the house and slammed the door.
Sween and Wilfred stared at the door for a bit before looking at each other.
Smalls looked up at the sound of Heather's voice, she looked seconds from tears.
“H-Heather!?” Smalls panicked. “T-thats not what I meant!”
“What else could that have meant Smalls!?” Heather shouted.
“I-I don't kn–!” Small's body jerked suddenly, he began to violently cough and clutch his stomach, Heather and Emma rushed over to help.
Emma lifted Smalls's body upright, and Heather grabbed a pail just in time for Smalls to turn over and vomit into it.
After Smalls stopped coughing, Emma gently laid him down, he curled up, hugging his stomach.
“Let's get you some tonics.” Emma said leaving to grab them.
Heather didn't say anything, she was mad. “Why would Smalls say that?!” She thought.
Heather left the room.
Helmer glanced at Smalls, he made up his mind to go find Picket.
Helmer headed out the hospital.
Smalls glanced up, he saw no one in the room. “I guess they don't wanna be around me, thats okay....
.....I want Wilfred...”
Smalls closed his eyes on more tears.
“Smalls?” Emma asked, she shook Smalls's body awake.
“huh?...” Smalls said, waking up from sleep, he looked around the room, Heather was changing the bed sheets, and Emma was infront of him with tonics
“Open your mouth please.” Emma asked, pouring some green tonic into a spoon.
“I'm fine.” Smalls said.
“Wasn't a question.” She replied.
“I'm fine.” Smalls said again, he looked down and pushed his face against his scarf.
“Open your mouth.” Emma said, more sternly this time.
......
“I'm fine.” Smalls repeated.
“Smalls.” Emma said harshly.
“I–” Smalls began, looking up, Emma took this as an opportunity, she pushed the spoon into Smalls mouth when he opened it to speak, Smalls swallowed it before gagging and looking at Emma with tears.
“w-why would you d-do t-that!” he cried.
“You wouldn't take it.” Emma said.
“I don't need to when I'm–!" Smalls got cut off
(crash!)
Both rabbits looked up to the broken down door with a brown lanky rabbit fallen over on top of it.
