I painted this a while ago, after this photo of Anna Calvi by Emma Nathan. I really loved the atmosphere of the original photo... Sadly the gold in this got a bit lost in the scan!

Two really intense, fun days making our first video in Bermondsey. Luckily - our amazing small team of very creative people brought the well-orchestrated chaos together: huge amounts of shots, dealing with very 'fitted' lycra, shooting in tiny loft-spaces tripping over wires and knocking over lights, last-gasp trips to Argos (wrong curtains ordered by Tim) and a large loud Rottweiler. Emma Nathan wrote and directed, inspired by the songs lyric by Ghosts collab writer Louise Petit. Emma is an inspiring and original video artist - we asked her to work with us having seen her incredible work with Anna Calvi. 'Paper Heart' video with you in a few weeks :)

Totalmente entregada a la imaginería religiosa vemos a la guapísima Anna Calvi, en el videoclip de 'Sing to me', uno de los temas que componen su nuevo disco, 'One Breath'.

Dirigido por Emma Nathan, en localizaciones de México, el tema es una enigmática y lynchiana balada, que junto a las imágenes en la que entrevemos ocasionalmente a la cantante, parecen formar un anuncio de moda de El Corte Inglés.

British singer/songwriter Anna Calvi has unveiled the video for her latest single, "Eliza", taken from her forthcoming sophomore album, One Breath, which is set to drop October 7th via Domino Records. Directed by Emma Nathan, "the visual follows Calvi as she runs through a forest in pursuit of a figure that is wearing the exact dark cloak as Calvi herself". Watch below. (via)

In honour of Anna's album trailer and announcement... These are some photos I took a while ago with a friend for my A-level art course, inspired by Emma Nathan's work with Anna Calvi.

We took quite a lot of photos, most of which involve me being sprayed with water/ me spraying other things with water/ me having a lot of fun glaring and pouting into the camera. I think I might post some more another time, but for now I just wanted to share the few photos I chose to um... glitterify. 

I had to improvise a little for this, and printed the photos out then put glitter/sequins/paint on top of them and scanned them, which is probably not the most professional way of doing things but shhhh, it was fun.
