The Austen re-reading of the 2020 lockdown continues... Austen herself may have described Emma Woodhouse as a character ‘whom no one but myself will much like’, but I think Emma is pretty endearing even with all her flaws, and it’s certainly enjoyable to laugh/cringe at all her misadventures. Plus, immersing yourself in Jane’s writing and her fabulous trademark wit is always a delight. I can also highly recommend reading this alongside watching @pemberleydigital ‘s modern vlog update, @emmaapproved.
