Video by @jim_abernethy // The Emma Kiss scene from the conservation film "This is Your Ocean: Sharks" was the very first film worldwide using my relationship with Emma the 15ft Tiger Shark, showing the affectionate side of Tiger Sharks! The brilliant producer @spacesharkearth ,with costars @drguyharvey @wyland and I quickly shot footage to put together a film, starring Emma to help successfully convince the Bahamas that sharks are easily #WorthMoreAlive so they would protect their country from the proposed shark fishing permits that were already being discussed! The great Dr. Silvia Earle narrates the film! July 7th, 2011 all Bahamian waters were declared total Shark Protection! I actually filmed this with my left hand, because Emma was not relaxed enough in the presence of the film crew! What are your thoughts on this? Humans should learn from this wisdom and these scientific studies . . . #Repost @juansharks (@get_repost) ・・・ Large sharks like Emma pictured here nuzzling into @oceanramsey are the sharks we need the most. The large adult sharks are much more educated on what is a food source and was is not a food source, leading to less mistaken identity bites on humans. The large sharks can also claim larger territory and push younger juvenile sharks that tend to use their mouth more to explore and investigate to learn. You want these large sharks patrolling our surf breaks and beaches making it safer for humans. Killing the large sharks out of fear, shark fishing photos or trophies is only creating in-balance in the ocean ecosystem.
