I’m not sure if you remember the series Once in a Blue Moon! It was always one of my favorites growing up and I always wished that I could see the story through, what happened to it?

Of course we remember it. We wish it could have seen completion, too. The first version was with Jennifer Quick, and it only went one volume, which was meant as a standalone with big sequel potential. It did stand alone for a while, but when it came time to revisit the world, it had been too long, and Jen Quick had moved on to other projects.

So we relaunched as The Avalon Chronicles. A new version of Once In A Blue Moon was released as Volume 1 of the new series, and we teamed with Emma Vieceli. Emma is a writer/artist, so we talked through future volumes with her, ran our ideas past her, and really took her input into our creative process. We did two Volumes with her (Once In A Blue Moon, and The Girl And The Unicorn). We had two or three more mapped out.

But Emma is ridiculously talented, and had a lot on her plate, and so it stopped there. It doesn't feel right to restart again without her, and so it's in a semi-permanent limbo.

We'd love to reteam with Emma and wrap the whole thing. Maybe one day...

I just got an email from RICHELLE MEAD.

HOLY HELLFIRE.

I mean, I email with a lot of authors/writers, but this… this is the woman who CREATED DIMITRI BELIKOV.

I feel like I should print the email and build it a shrine. Seriously. This tops Stephen King.

Now I can die happy.

She was responding to an email I sent back in October. Nothing major, just pretty much thanking me for what I had said. :o)

I would post a screen shot, but I would hate to piss her off when she was nice enough to answer me!

My sister is laughing her ass off at me because I shrieked so hard I woke her up. She said I’m acting like it was a letter from God, LOL.

I should have also noted that I also fangirl this much where Emma V is concerned, because she created Dimitri for the graphic novels and now I am totally in love with a 2d man.
