I think Dabb is gonna end with the spawn becoming the new God. Especially since he confirmed Amara will return- as per season 11, Chuck & Amara have to be killed at the same time. So yeah. I don’t know if that’s better or worse than the spawn ending up with the impala as a “next generation hunter.”

Yep. Spawn’s gonna become the new God, and Sam and Dean are going to end the series fawning over him going “That’s our boy” because that’s how it works.

I too rewatched this episode for shits and giggles and can only concur that you are absolutely correct. The entire episode is about the wendigo and its inducement into cannibalism We know the wendigo’s tragic backstory (it was human once! It fed on people out of necessity!) We know it’s hunting techniques lmao. You and I anon should start a new tumblr tag and call it #wendigonatural.

Some other random thoughts about this early episode

Kripke LOVES info dumping and exposition. People always say the pilot is bad for this but it continued on into this episode as well.

How does Jess already have a fucking grave marker after like two weeks. I’m sure Jared would say it was actually five years later at some con or another

Lmao Callum Keith Rennie becomes the first of many Canadian actors to die after not listening to the Winchester bros :-( and trying to be manlier than them!

Dean had good chemistry with the main actress (Gina Holden) who played Hailey. This is always used as an example of his terrible womanizing ways but all he does is flirt with her a little bit and SHE kisses him… goodbye lmao

I loved the excuse for why a Wendigo would be in Colorado. In s1 they were still trying bless their hearts

Alden Ehrenreich was in this episode too. Dean would be sooooo jealous of him getting to play Han Solo even in a flop movie. And poor dead Cory Monteith

Headcanon: In s10 Crowley resurrects Emma (via the convenient door to Purgatory in Hell) to kill Dean but she refuses & he changes his mind & lets her go. Emma ends up rescuing people from monsters like the ones that tortured her. She finds out Dean’s been brainwashed (as she was) & knows she has to help. J*ck’s brainwashing is undone when Emma slits his throat with the Archangel blade. Cas apologizes for the events of 12x19, all is put to right & Dean gets to have his actual child in his life.

So... Crowley not being the generic bad guy TM? Emma having an actual role and agency? Emma doing away with the nougat spawn? Cas returning to his roots? I approve of all of this. Well done, my friend!
