I don’t even care how pretentious it sounds but when fans refuse to engage with canonical wincest material and subtext then they just the lack the ability or the drive to engage with media critically.

You don’t have to like it, but refusing or simply ignoring it just means you don’t actually like the show you watched, but instead enjoy the bastardised sanitary and ultimately boring version that’s been created

Imagine dean winchester, eleven years old in a shitty motel room. Sam's watching cartoons and Dad's late again. By days. Just left with a "be good" and a fifty dollar bill for food. But it's been weeks and even though Dean makes sure Sammy eats first, things are still tight. Dean's hungry and lonely and young and no one's there to tell him it's okay. And Sam is hungry and too young to understand. So he goes out, nicks some food, maybe visits a truck stop, leaving pale and sick the first time. But the first times are never the last, not when your dad is forsaking all he has left to avenge what he can't get back.
