I finally had the motivation to clean my dusty disaster desk after a bajillion years… 🫠
Of all things, why mock an old 2016 fic over the way an author characterized a character?
Does it make you all feel good to pick apart someone’s OLD work and stroke your inflated ego that you could write a better characterization of Yuri than them? If you wanted to critique someone’s work, then let them know. Why couldn’t you all write a comment to their old fic instead of hiding your opinions through vague posting, behind a black mirror, since it bothered you all so much? Because it’s old?? Or that your creative skills is far more superior than them but you want to be seen as a saint by your followers. Because god forbids having a negative public image when deep down you all dug yourself that hole.
You all wanna compare an old work with your new works for what? Validation? There was no competition to begin with and you all somehow made it to be. This “joke” you all have amongst your group is not funny.
I saw what happened in Twitter and I’ll say this:
I cannot look at any of your creative works and you, as the creator, the same way again.
Three weeks ago, I gave a parting gift to a fellow author who left this fandom because of the hurt and pain they experienced from the awful individuals that they thought were their friends.
If you cannot give any authors the courtesy of a decent human being, why should I give the same respect to you all as artists as well?
I’m not convinced that you and your friends are truly sorry to your followers when you are trying to save face. I cannot trust the words you all say at this point with your actions and posts at Twitter. (What is baseless assumptions when your posts is an extension of you as a person? Don’t lie, be honest. I saw them with my own fucken eyes.)
I hope you all are satisfied with who you’ve became as individuals and lay on the dirt mound bed you all created for yourselves.
I was just minding my own business and finishing up my fanfic draft and my dear friend brags to me that she pulled a Quarter Century Rarity (QCR) Alternate Art Effect Veiler from the QC Stampede box.
All I could say, with endearment, is:
I was mulling hard over a surname that I decided on Fujiki (藤木) for Yuri and Serena’s last name in my fanfic. Completely forgetting about Yusaku’s surname until now…
I don’t want to spend anymore time, as it is, coming up with a different surname so Yuri and Serena will have the same name as Yusaku. Granted, Yusaku look like Yuri and Serena’s love child with their color palette combined.
Should I change this prompt fic’s tone to be lighter, leave it, or scrap it all together? The fic’s title is good too ffs (I’m already knees deep in the writing process for this angst fic)
It’s gonna be evident on how I feel & view this former hobby of mine based on my writing style. And it makes me feel エモい (emo-i) thinking back on it…
It reads like a journal entry, to me, than an actual fictional story and I don’t think it’s fair to the readers to put out my personal feelings onto everyone’s screen :/
I’ll work on it some more before the deadline. Writing is supposed to be fun, after all.
Finally got the Castlevania Dominus Collection! Time to play Order of Ecclesia, I heard good things about this game.
I don’t know why I thought it was a good idea to read an architecture reference book about Venetian Villas for my modern fairytale-esque like Yuri/Serena fanfic (after I complete the fanfic with the surnames). Now I have notes about the history of Venice.
On one hand, I don’t have to worry about the description of the settings. On the other… how am I going to incorporate some of these information without it becoming a tutoring lesson.
