Empties this week and what I thought of them. @xotreatmentroom Cool Cucumber Cleanser. Effective and smooth. Smelled delicious. @reversa_canada Micellar Water. Non-greasy and effective. I always tell people to find the cheapest Micellar water they can find to take off makeup. It works and… it doesn’t need to be fancy. @vichylaboratoires Prebiotic Hyaluronic Acid. Honestly, quite useless in my routine since almost everything else I use has some Hyaluronic acid in it so I wouldn’t ever add another one to my routine. @lanolips 101 Ointment. This is an AMAZING lip balm and I loved using it. I would absolutely repurchase. @bitebeauty lip pencil from ages ago. It was the perfect medium pink colour and I used it daily. Things I've finished and loved. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @cantubeauty Skin Therapy lotion - omg I went back and forth about this one a lot. I didn't like the smell, but then I liked it. It's a sweet coconut candy. I didn't like the texture and then I did. Honestly, this would be an amazing summer lotion because it's light, sets quickly, and is not greasy at all. But it's also not that moisturizing, so it's not my favourite for the winter time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @bliss Vitamin C. I loved this vitamin C. It was light and stable and I'll always like a pump better than those little dropper bottles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @naturallyseriousskin Sleep Over Retin-Oil. Adored this oil, it was super gentle on my skin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @soldejaneiro Coco Cabana Cream. This is a mini. Smells tropical but I like the texture of the original Bum Bum Cream better. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @elizabetharden Eight Hour Cream Lip Balm. Thick and waxy, this lasted a long time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @yslbeauty The Shock mascara. I bought this in a blue colour and it never smudged or flaked. This is an amazing formula. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @blistex lip balm. It is winter and I've been running out of every lip balm I have. This one has spf 25 and I liked that. Gloomy day today but here are the things I finished and loved. @bliss Serum. I didn’t love the packaging of this but I liked the formula. It’s got BHA, zinc, Niacinamide, so it seemed to be mattifying and dried to a powdery finish which I really liked. I also finished a Bliss Bitamin C cream and omg, loved it. I really loved their skincare this fall. @strivectin retinol. This has such a luscious moisturizing formula and it’s perfect for dry skin. @shoppersbeauty Quo lip gloss. Also moisturizing, creamy, and very pigmented so I adored this formula and used it all the time. @narsissist lip gloss that’s one of my favs. It’s a hot pink but not completely pigmented so easy to wear. It was called Angelika and is discontinued now, and I’ve had it forever so I’m not too choked to finish it and see it go. It’s winter here, so the empties of body lotion seem fitting. If I don’t stay on top of moisturizing, I’m prone to random patches of eczema. It’s been a decade since that happened, but I’m not letting it happen again. Finished a @hnyskincare Body Balm. I posted about this early in the year and it made my best of 2021 list. It’s a small skincare brand out of Ontario and their products have beeswax in them. The body balm smelled like rose wax and melted into skin. I’m also done a @moogooskincare.ca body lotion. I’ve had it in rotation for a couple of weeks and so, yeah, it’s done. It’s the Soothing lotion which is the lightest of the bunch. Goes on creamy and then absorbs. I actually like the thicker ones a bit more for this time of year. This is probably one of the last empties post for 2021!!! Thanks for following along if you have, I know a lot of people have told me that they enjoy seeing these because they can see what I actually have gone through. Some things go quickly (like body care and hair care) and some things take longer (like this body balm! - I tried to save it for emergencies). 🦃November Empties🦃 Another month has flown by, which means….more empties! I only managed to finish 16 products this month, but that’s okay, I hit my goal of 300 empties! Things I finished that I won’t replace: Sukin Jelly Exfoliator. This was actually gentle and didn’t have very much grit, but it also wasn’t great at cleaning and just didn’t do anything. Alumier Retinol 1.0. This was a strong retinol in a very drying, gritty base. Pass on this. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. I never reached for this - it was long-lasting and went on ok, but I don’t think the price is justified. I won’t buy backup fragrances because there’s too much out there to try and love, but I’ll buy backup skincare because… I don’t know, because I will. This is a truly irreplaceable product in my skincare routine. In fact, there used to be a time when it wasn’t available in Canada and I’d get it when I went to the US. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I finished this @neostratacanada peel treatment this week after using it weekly for almost 2 years! And I’ve had a backup waiting.
