TASK #2: EITHER OR

Cold OR Hot

Anyone who’s met Addison knows that she runs hot both emotionally (don’t get on her bad side) and, usually, physically. She’s a frequent kicker of sheets to get them off in the middle of the night (even in the middle of winter) and usually keeps the AC on year round.

Envy OR Lust

Addison has never wanted for anything in her life and as such the only time she really feels envious is when she thinks of the Davenport’s immortality. She doesn’t think she wants to live forever but finds it unfair that they’re able to do so after being the cause of so much pain in the world whereas her ancestors weren’t responsible for the death of hundreds, possibly thousands due to the passing of the werewolf gene.

Blunt OR Tactful

A New Yorker through and through, Addison has never minced words and gets straight to the point– this has served her well in most areas of life, especially work where she’s cut throat and doesn’t beat around the bush– a tactic that tends to surprise many in court but anyone who knew her mother would know that Addison was definitely her daughter.

Dreamer OR Realist

Sure she has dreams but Addison exists in the here and now and doesn’t see the point of harping about could have beens or maybes when there are things happening right in front of her.

Impulsive OR Planner

While she can be impulsive, the eldest Vale daughter has always had a plan for her life and she’s the type who follows plans to a T. She sees what she wants and goes for it.

Stubborn OR Flexible

Stubbornness is a trait Vale woman are notorious for and Addison is no different– it’s easy to see in her everyday life and at work that she is a mountain that will not move or bend for anyone.

Sociable OR Isolated

She grew up a socialite pretty much, enough said.

Lazy OR Hard-working

What other sort of person gets up at 5am to run, shower and do work before work before staying at the office until 9 or 10 at night, sometimes sleeping there?

Half empty OR Half full

Where there’s a will there’s a way.

High energy OR Low energy

See hard working.

Dependent OR Independent

Addison doesn’t wait for anyone or anything– she paves her own paths and heaven help anyone who gets in her way.

Eloquent OR Rough around the edges

Though blunt and to the point, Addison grew up in the 1% of the 1% and knows how to act like it. She’s got a way with words that can leave someone scratching their heads because she didn’t actually insult them but her meaning was right there in the most polite fashion.

Sees what they want OR Sees what is there

She’s a realist.

Dwells on the past OR Looks towards the future

Plans don’t accomplish themselves.

Ambitious OR Vindictive

Even if Addison is a petty bitch, she’s not someone who actively looks for ways to get back at people and would rather focus on moving forward and her goals.

Self-critical OR Selfless

Despite never admitting it, Addison’s always been afraid she won’t be enough on her own, apart from her name. It’s why she works as hard as she does.

Idealistic OR Relaxed

Addison’s not really either because she’s been exposed to so much and knows so much about the world, both supernatural and non-supernatural, so she’s a bit jaded in that regard. But she’s also rarely relaxed, operating at 100% nearly 24/7. Though, when she does relax, she makes sure it’s a time she can do something she enjoys– things like running a marathon are relaxing for her.

Comedic OR Serious

She’s not always serious but what she is serious about, she doesn’t fool around with and while she can joke around and have a good time, she’d probably focus more on work than on having a laugh, at least during the week.

Loyal OR Innovative

Family first, always.

Sarcastic OR Sincere

She’s a petty, shady bitch so.

Patient OR Neat

If she didn’t have frequent fliers (aka: her siblings) crashing at her place during the week or whenever they wanted really, her apartment would be pristine, mostly because she’s rarely there. Her room (barring her closest) is pretty meticulous and her bed’s always made perfectly. And even though her closet can be messy, she’s things organized by season and color.

Modest OR Proud

Vales are proud folks and Addison didn’t work her ass off to not take pride in her accomplishments.

Kind OR Moody

Even though she can be bitchy or blunt, Addison’s never out to hurt someone and usually will lend a hand if she’s able or someone needs it.

Fearful OR Open

You never have to wonder what’s going on in her mind because she’s the first one to tell you.

Frugal OR Glamorous

She lives in a penthouse in midtown Manhattan and has a trust fund on top of working at her family’s law firm. She’s not wearing knockoffs.

Trusting OR Confident

She tends to command a room when she walks in, not because she’s the top dog or anything like that but because nothing really sticks to her, and if it does, Addison’s a master at hiding it.

Perfectionist OR Patriotic

Again, it’s why she works as hard as she does.

Methodical OR Humorous

Systems are a gift from above and Addison operates on lists– from groceries to errands to assignments to shopping to books. Sticky notes abound in her office and at home on her desk and nightstand.

Maternal/Paternal OR Callous

At least with her siblings Addison is like a mother hen– as the eldest female and, for a while while Arthur was away, as the oldest child around, she took on responsibility for making her sure her siblings were all in one piece, especially when their parents were away and even now she’s close to them and checks up on them.

Book smarts OR Street smarts

Both– having attending a top private school in Manhattan and graduated valedictorian, as well as two Ivy League universities for both undergrad and law school, it’s fair to say Addison’s book smart. But being a Vale, and especially working and growing up around The Frey meant she was exposed to the underbelly of the city to a degree and knows how to get around situations there.

Introverted OR Extroverted

Pretty self explanatory and rather obvious if you know her or just...see her.

Sensible OR Imaginative

She’s practical and looks at the obvious. While she can be creative and imaginative, she’d rather not spend her time and energy on things that aren’t in front of her.

Brave OR Foolhardy

Addison’s a pretty selfless person and puts others first, even if people may not always think that’s the case. If it came to it, she’d very well jump in front of something to make sure someone else got out of the way and was safe (except a Davenport. She’d let it hit them and probably cheer).

Family OR Friends

Family first, always. Certain friends (like select Tallises) are considered family.

Wrath OR Greed

When she’s angry– don’t get in her way. While she wouldn’t set out to hurt someone out of spite, the only time she’d willingly do so is if she believed her anger was justified and, being a lawyer, she’s pretty skilled at making a case for her actions.

Sunrise OR Sunset

Miss up at 5am to go running.

Indoors OR Outdoors

She prefers the outdoors even if she’s usually stuck inside working late but when she shifts, being outdoors is the best.

Night owl OR Early bird

Up at 5am, at the office until 9 or 10 and in bed by midnight, it’s safe to say that she’s both, though who knows how long she’ll keep that up.

Technology OR Old fashioned

Has two phones and would die without either.

Left-handed OR Right-handed

Always wanted to be left handed for some reason– maybe because their mom was but she got over it pretty fast when she saw the smudges Peyton always sported on her hand after writing a report.
