8. things you said when you were crying / Nate+Kenny OR Alexa + Eoin

“I will straight up murder you if you tell anyone you saw me like this.” Alexa shot Eoin a death glare. Well as much of a death glare as one could shoot while they were sobbing in their trailer. 

“I’m not sure anyone would believe that you could cry Lex.” This only served to make her cry harder and his eyes widened in panic. “I was joking!….mostly.”

The redhead wiped at her eyes uselessly and looked up at him from where she sat on her couch. If she could cry like this for the camera they’d all get Emmy’s this year. 

“Do you really think I’m so heartless? I can cry, I am a human being you know.” 

“What the hell happened to get you all worked up?” 

“My brother was just hurt. Badly.” Eoin restrained all urges to make a face at the thought of Garrett Madden and how Taylor had fawned all over him as he dropped down next to Alexa. 

“He’s fine. Why the waterworks?” 

“My little brother is probably the only person besides Alice who thinks I’m any good. Do you know that? Everyone else thinks I’m a crazy bitch, but Garrett actually loves me and knows I’m a person. It’s scary.” Eoin nodded slowly, finally getting it and clicking into place in his head who those people would be for him. “Just don’t tell anyone okay?”

18. things you said after you kissed me / Jack + Ruby. Best get your imagination hat out.

Admittedly, Jack had let that kiss go on a little longer than he’d meant to. In his defense, though, it was a pretty great kiss, and he would’ve been lying if he said he hadn’t been thinking about making it happen himself. But when he finally pulled away, the first words out of his mouth were:

“What the fuck was that about?”

Ruby stepped back but didn’t quite let go of him, her hand still lingering on his chest. It felt more like a threat than anything else. “That was a pretty PG-13 kiss there, buddy,” she told him. “What are you getting so offended for?”

“I’m not offended,” Jack replied, wiping his lips. “Just… what the fuck.”

Ruby studied him for a moment, arching an eyebrow. “There’s a girl, isn’t there?”

“Who said there was a girl?”

“Seriously, Malarkey, I’ve been around long enough to know when there’s a girl. Someone back home you never got over?” When Jack didn’t answer her, she rolled her eyes. “Honestly, I really don’t care, but if you’re going to stand around and be all pathetic about it, then I’m not going to waste my time.”

Jack didn’t really know how to reply to that, and so Ruby continued to stare. It was unsettling, really. Those red eyes of hers were intense, and he hadn’t entirely convinced himself he wasn’t scared of her yet.

“Yeah, okay, so there’s a girl,” he said finally. “But it’s not like that’s ever going to happen, so–“

Before he could finish, Ruby was already turning to leave. “All right, well, it’s been fun, Hugo Boss, but I’ve got places to be and–“

“Okay, wait–“

Without really thinking about it, Jack grabbed for her arm, which was actually sort of dumb and would probably get him killed. Not that that was new territory for him or anything. And anyway, he wasn’t going to give her the chance. He pulled Ruby back towards and kissed her again, cupping her face in his hands. It was at least a couple of minutes before either of them came up for air again.

“Still think I’m being pathetic?” Jack asked her.

“Yep,” Ruby answered, without missing a beat. “How about you do us both a favor and just stop talking?”

18. things you said when you were scared // Barry+dealer's choice

“I need to ask you a favour.” It wasn’t often he was caught off guard. It was usually the other way around. But Barachiel had gotten use to Tommy Milton rising above his expectations. 

“You’re oddly serious Tom.” 

“It’s a pretty serious situation Barry.” Tommy was shrugging into a jacket, always moving that one was.

“I’ve asked you not to call me that.” he frowned and his charge cracked a hint of a smile. 

“Well Barachiel doesn’t roll off the tongue quite as easy y’know?” He’d never met a human quite as easy going as Tom Milton, but in the time they’d spent together he’d also gotten to know the look in his eyes. It had been there the first time Barry had appeared to him, when he’d explained everything. He’d grown up since then, a lot had happened, but it was easily recognizable. 

Barry made a rolling motion with his hand to urge the man on with the conversation. 

“What’s the favour?” 

“I don’t know how this is gonna go...but just in case it goes south. I need to know my girls are gonna be okay. I need you to promise you’ll look out for them.” 

“Tom...”

“Just promise Barry. You guys owe me this, after everything, you owe me this one thing.” It wasn’t a request he could really turn down, not after that. He nodded 

“I’ll do my best. That kid of yours is already a handful.” Tom’s face lit up at the mention of Sidney. 

“Takes after her Dad. Let’s go kick some shedim butt huh?” he clapped Barry on the shoulder and the seraph felt the need for that promise slip away. If anyone could do this it was Milton. 

It wasn’t until later, seeing that panic in Tommy’s eyes, that he realized he’d been too cocky. The man who was supposed to be the guardian, the human who’d become his friend gripped the sleeve of his shirt. 

“You promised. You take care of them.”
