A vocal synth "Fandesign Fanzine" to highlight your personal creativity: Interest Check o(￣▽￣)ｄ

I've had this idea for a long time! I would like to know if vocal synth fanartists are interested in it enough to make it a reality... NEOW!!!

What this fanzine would be about:

Visual art (drawings, cosplays...) of YOUR fandesigns of vocal synth characters with no official designs. (Think Dreamtonics' "alphabet soup", VOCALOID's silhouette series...)

First come first serve - no barrier of entry based on skill, style, etc.

A semi-traditional free zine experience with some rules (minimum dimensions and time limit, for example)

That's right - no Hatsune Miku or Kasane Teto SV here. Not even a VIMALION Yi Xi, iconidol Weina or Mr. Kevin in sight.

Emvoice is kind of wild to me, because it came out during the original Synthesizer V R1 era, and at the time they beat SynthV to the whole A /I vocals thing, and had more realistic and smoother vocals (again, at the time) as a result, and was even starting to gain traction to a similar degree. And I believe that it would have become a viable competitor to Synthesizer V and even Vocaloid, had it not been for the fact that after a few months of having the open beta version for free, they began charging 200 USD for a piece of software with only one (1) voicebank that only allowed you to place notes, split them, and edit phonemes. That's it. No vibrato, no dynamics, no ability to edit other vocal traits. Nothing. And it also required you to be connected to Wi-Fi constantly in order to use it, so you couldn't even edit anything if you were offline. Like, the way it fell off the face of the Earth so fast after that AKSHDJKALZJFJLAK!

I genuinely think that I might be one of only, like, five people who even knew about or remember it now because of that LMAOOO!

I recently bought and started experimenting with Emvoice, an audio plugin that’s like text-to-speech, but it sings.  It also doesn’t sound robotic like other plugins.

I decided to try to create a fan-duet with Adam on his Owl City song Cinematic, this time using these alternate lyrics of the second verse of the song (sourced from the official video on Owl City’s YouTube channel):

There is another version floating out there on Reddit somewhere where my own terrible, not-warmed-up-at-all voice attempted to recreate the same thing, but I wanted to see what kind of quality I could get out of Emvoice.  A few things to note:

The Emvoice voice I’m using is Keela (default).

While I have the full song available, I’m only uploading this small section to try to appease the Tumblr copyright bots.

The “Yeah” is missing in that one part because I couldn’t get it to sound with the right rhythm, no matter how I tried to arrange it, whenever the “Yeah” was present.

The last part is down an octave because it didn’t sound natural with it up in that high register (or with the other part in a lower register).

The Cinematic instrumental was sourced from the YouTube channel Owl City Karaoke.
