empyre: aftermath is apparently set just after issue #4 of empyre, just to be extra confusing, instead of at the end of the event. based on your predictions (which sounded logical btw) where they marry in that issue, how do see that happening after a potential kidnapping in the middle of this war, and why are they on the defensive in issue #5 in that case? any guess as to why it's all structured this way and what the consequences might be for this in the event??

Where did you hear that Aftermath was set after Issue #4? You might be thinking of the now unsolicited Strikeforce tie-in.

According to the most recent reading list, Fallout and Aftermath are the penultimate issues of the event (followed by immortal She-Hulk which probably won’t really be the “conclusion” that the others are). The solicitation for Aftermath also says it takes place at the end of Empyre.

That being said, I can see a scenario were in Empyre #4 or #5 the Cotati are defeated and the story pivots to a faction of Kree/Skrull making a move (possibly led by Tanalth? I don’t see Super Skrull betraying Teddy given their history).

Something I forgot to note in my review of Empyre #0

I think Quoi is meant to be a direct foil for Teddy. Both are hybrids, both have a destiny, both are incredibly powerful and are related to an Avenger.

Quoi came off far too know-it-all, and clearly doesn’t know jack about Teddy or who he is, and the whole notion that Quoi can be a savior of lifekind, but Teddy can’t be kind of space, just kind of makes me wonder if the final battle won’t be Teddy vs Quoi in some capacity. But I don’t know. I’ve been wrong before.
