Like I’ve said before, I’m reading Map of the World (part 1 of Down to Agincourt series) and I read this phrase the other day which rang a bell in my brain and I’m bringing it here so smarter people can dig into this and do some amazing fics or even meta, perhaps, if interested. 

See, I can’t remember what the phrase exactly was and I didn’t mark it because I was on mobile and without internet, but it was something about end!verse Dean sacrificing his team, sacrificing Cas, because he was so fucking obsessed with stopping/killing Lucifer... and it kind of reminded me of S10 Sam and what Dean accused him of. Sam was so obsessed with saving Dean that he didn’t mind putting Cas and Charlie’s lives on the line (and there is no doubt in my mind that if Bobby or Kevin had been there he’d have recruited them for his team too). In the end he did it all for Dean, but at the beginning of the season, the promos for Black showed us Sam ruthlessly torturing a crossroads demon for info on Dean, and according to stuff I read pre-season, the idea was kinda to ask us viewers who was actually darker, Sam or Dean. So even if they didn’t have reverse end!verse in mind, my brain just went HOLY SHIT NOPE the other day when this idea was introduced to it. 

And all of this suddenly makes me want a fic (or meta, but I don’t think Sam is actually so much like end!Dean... O) where MoC!Dean is paralleled to Lucifer!Sam and S10 Sam to end!Dean. 

Just imagine... MoC!Dean running rampant, ruining the world, and Sam and his group of aficionados digging through everything and doing anything to stop him, Sam growing darker and more ruthless by the day.

In the end, when Dean and future!dean are talking about whether or not to use their friends as a decoy, 2009!dean directly qualifies Cas as separate from his friends. He said "you're really going to feed them into that meat grinder? Your friends? /Cas/?" There was so much emphasis on Cas and I'm going to cry.

Endverse Cas instantly recognized that Dean was not Dean within seconds of seeing him. Seconds. He picked up the differences without Dean hardy saying a word. Think about that. Think about how Cas, even after all that time and all those years of future Dean treating him crappy, he has basically memorized his mannerisms and features to a point where without question, he knows it isn't Dean. Just think about that.
