where were avengers during iron man 3?

so i saw this post that was like “the saddest thing about iron man 3 that avengers weren’t even looking for tony” and yes this is an awful fact but i thought, what were they doing then?

clint was with his family and natasha was probably with them

bruce was alone and tired in his lab, because he was working for few days straight just to distract himself from the fact that he’s alone

steve was probably sitting all the time in front of bucky’s grave just wondering how would it be if he didn’t survive

and thor wasn’t probably doing much because i think that asgardians don’t celebrete christmas

and that what makes me sad...
