I need every Nigerian and non-Nigerian across the world to TWEET/RETWEET and POST/REBLOG about #EndSARS to amplify what’s happening in Nigeria right now. The government ordered the military to shoot and kill peaceful protesters last night. Crimes against humanity are being committed against innocent civilians right now.

If you're not aware, Nigerian youth have been protesting against police brutality. The #EndSARS movement is a movement whose goal is to end the "Special Anti Robbery Squad," a police squad that extort, harass, attack, and kill innocent Nigerians. They target people based on their clothes, possessions, and perceived sexuality. Tuesday, October 20th Nigerian forces in Lagos opened fire at protestors, killing at least 78 people and injuring countless more. (cnn article linked)

If you're not in Nigeria, what you can is educate yourself on the #EndSARS movement. Many Nigerians are sharing their experiences over social media because of the lack of coverage by western media. Listen to them and amplify their voices.

My entire family lives in Nigeria, so this is something that immediately affects them and indirectly affects me. SARS has been stealing from, raping, and killing people with impunity in exactly the same way the police in the US do. The government claims to be working on solutions and then goes and tear gasses and murders protesters, all while letting the rogue SARS officers do whatever they want. It's chaos. There's protests all over the country.
