In the 1990s, Ibrahim Ogundero, popularly known as Malo Moto, was one of the hottest female dancers on the Fuji and Juju music scene, performing for stars like Sunny Ade, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, and Wasiu Ayinde Marshal. But Malo Moto wasn't a woman. Ogundero was a man who dressed as a woman in outfits sewn by his wife, who owned a fashion design business. He said he performed as a woman for two reasons: he loved making people laugh, and he had often been told that "feminine blood" flowed through his veins. "This is a real job, and people appreciate it. It is not stealing, and it brings in money," the father of two told P.M. News in 1994. One admirer said, "Everyone likes him. When he dresses, you hardly know he is a man, and his dancing steps at parties are terrific."

Edit: Ƴan daudu, ʼyan daudu, or dan daudu seem to be the correct terms to describe such individuals.
