So the problem was the stepper damper pushed the y axis stepper motor out far enough that the carriage would slam into it and make that horrible ratcheting sound. No good. (I wish I’d thought to take a picture of that). 😵 My first fix was to angle the the y stop forward, because even though it is bolted into the frame, there is enough play to do that and have it work. Ok. 🤷♂️ Of course that wasn’t good enough for this humble maker. 🤨 I had the bed off to change the springs, so I thought, “What the heck? Why not remove the carriage and grind the offending spot down a smidge, repaint it, and put it back on?” So I did. 🤓 This allowed me to move the y stop back to its original position. The two last pics are before I did that, so the gap isn’t quite as nice as the pics, but it is still plenty. Now the motor and the carriage shall never meet. 😸 How does it print? Hope to find out in the next couple of days. 🤞 #ohawclan #acemarken #creality3d #ender3mods #adventuresin3dprinting #lifesadanceyoulearnasyougo #booyahgrandpa #3dprinting #grindpaintsandpaint
