Endgame Infinity Stones Fusion

okay, so I didn't really like Endgame or InfinityWwar (although IW was much better it is kinda roped in their with endgame) though i always feel that if you can't find a better alternative, don't go too hard on it. I decided to rewrite part of it for my fic and I was just reminded of this thing called Nemesis, which was the original being the infinity stones were before and had been split up.

It really felt like we were going to get them, but for some reason all those clues and hints went to waste. (though honestly, that's not a surprise "tHe SuN wiLL ShiNE oN Us AgAiN?") I mean, we have several scenes where its hinted at that the infinity stones have some kind of concious, and that the mind stone was "calling" or something. It felt like them being reunited would lead up to something.

I tried to look up some images of the character as at this point I had forgotten the name so I typed "infinity stones fusion" but I struck GOLD! Based on a show called steven universe, which has this thing called fusion, someone called Seopai on Deviantart designed personified infinity stones. But even better, they made a fusion!!!!

Forget all those cgi generic alien armies, imagine how awesome and visually stunning Nemesis with this design would have looked! All the main avengers teaming up against this OP cosmic being.

My Biggest Problem With Endgame

Hi. There have been lots of rants about marvel recently. Whether it be about character arcs, plot, or just downright laziness, I think they are all quite valid. But all of these flaws come to a major point.

If there is one major flaw that has been pretty consistent throughout all of the movies, it would have to be inconsistency.

The Marvel writers have absolutely no care in the world when it comes to consistency, whether it be in character traits, as we saw in Captain America in Endgame - leaving his two best friends for a life he didn’t really want even back then - or, even more so, in how strong the character are.

Let’s talk about Captain Marvel, for example. In her movie, she was able to tear through enormous and heavily armored ships like they were nothing. Her powers were practically limitless. And she does the same thing in Endgame: she obliterated Thanos’ ship like it was scrap metal.

So why couldn’t she just smash through Thanos with the same speed and force? He’s a living being with a bit of armor on. It would not have been hard for her to simply crash into him with her powers. She shouldn’t have been able to turn him to mush, based on what Marvel had shown us before. It’s an injustice to her character.

And there’s way more where that came from, folks.

Wanda and Vision - the two that were arguably the most powerful in Age of Ultron and Civil War, right? What did Marvel do in the first 20 minutes or so of Infinity War? They completely played them down. Two hand-to-hand combat-based aliens that should have been easy targets for them were too strong for them - yet Steve, Sam, And Natasha were able to beat them? Listen, I love those characters, but the balance of power was not well done.

And what about the scene in Endgame where Thor, Iron Man, And Captain America were all fighting a stoneless Thanos all at once? 

That scene, for me, is the worst when it comes to consistency. Let’s look at it individually, shall we?

Thor - he was able to drive an axe through Thanos when he had all the infinity stones, which is most of his power. Look at all this crazy OP stuff he’s been able to do:

Now that Thanos doesn’t have the Gauntlet, Thor should have been able to beat him on his own, let alone with two of his greatest weapons in his hands. An argument could be made that he was “out of shape” but, then again, he also wasn’t even alone.

Steven Grant Rogers was able to hold Thanos off while he had five stones - five - and in Endgame, when the Titan had none, he wasn’t strong enough. Even when he had Mjolnir it still wasn’t enough. In my opinion, this is simply an excuse to have more action, because even if had just been Thor and Captain America, they should have been able to destroy that purple grape.

But it wasn’t just them - Tony Stark was with them, too. Tony Stark, who fought Thanos when he had four stones, and was still able to make him bleed. 

Tony Stark, one of the only ones Thanos feared. Tony Stark, who, if Thanos hadn’t had the stones in Infinity War, would have been able to annihilante the Titan most likely.

These three were able to hold off Thanos, with the stones, on their own, and what happens in Endgame? All of them combined aren’t nearly enough to defeat him.

Marvel’s inconsistency is the reason I don’t accept canon. All of these characters should have been able to destroy the Mad Titan Thanos, especially without the stones. Tony’s sacrifice shouldn’t have been needed, but it happened because writers care more about how long and dramatic they can make a movie more than what will make it better.

MCU, Endgame and Writing

I’m a writer. I love to write. It’s my passion, my own personal therapy. I love create worlds and characters and write stories. Everything that I write is an extension of myself. And when someone comments on any of my stories saying how much they liked it or how much they got involved in the world that I created, is the best feeling.

I spend hours and days organizing my stories, writing down the world, the timeline (especially when I have more the one story in the same universe), the characters, choosing names and personalities for my characters. Everything to make sure that I won’t lose myself on my own story. And when I have some new idea, I check to make sure that it’ll fit in what I already have.

It’s hard to write, it’s not an easy thing to do. And many times, my characters grow and go to paths that I hadn’t plan for them to take. But that is the magic and the beauty of writing: to create something that creates a life of its own. And I respect the path that my characters choose for crazier that this may sound.

All this is rant is to say that I think that this is what is lacking in the MCU: passion. Passion for writing, for create and tell stories, to create worlds so real that the audience will desire that they could go to these worlds. It lacks respect for the characters, for the path that they already took and the changes they passed, for how much they already grown. Organization between the stories, respect for the continuity.

For what I can see the MCU became only two things: fun and shock value. And I think that Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame illustrate this.

  THOR: RAGNAROK

 There is not one single serious subject in Ragnarok. Everything became a joke.

Loki’s attempted suicide? A joke to entertain strangers.

Loki’s sacrifice and trauma? A play.

Bruce’s fear of hurting others as the Hulk? Disappeared.

Bruce’s discomfort in be on another planet? A joke.

Asgard destruction? Is followed by an empty joke.

Odin’s past as a conquer? Is not even discussed properly. Is just put there for the sake of having something to “criticize” (and not even this is made in a serious way).

All the deaths caused by Hela? The Warrior’s Three’s deaths? Who cares? They not even have lines. Thor doesn’t even recognize they are dead.

Loki himself is turn into a joke. A character in its entirety is turn into a joke for the sake to make the “hero” look better (I have another post where I discuss how Thor’s actions in Ragnarok put him closer to a villain than a hero)

Everything in Ragnarok is made to entertain and to make the audience laugh. It’s not made for the audience to think. Is just fun. An empty copy of Guardians of the Galaxy (a movie that can balance serious subjects and fun). And I’m sorry but I like stories that make me think. I like stories that respect they characters and its own continuity not that “respectful disrespect” everything that came before.

  AVENGERS: ENDGAME

All the deaths and the time travel in Endgame, for me, serves just a shock value. The movie itself has a vibe of “let’s shock our fans” instead of “let’s give a proper end to these 10 years of stories and these characters”

Thor’s depression became a joke.

Natasha’s death could be avoided or made more heroic and with a respectful funeral.

Tony didn’t need to die.

The time travel plot didn’t need to be there (All the deaths in Infinity War didn’t need to happen – they also were only for ‘shock’. After all, anyone truly believed that those characters were going to remain dead?)

Thanos is a forgetful enemy.

Steve entire end doesn’t make sense on his own arc.

And the directors and screenwriters be unable to agree on what happen on the screen doesn’t help either and make me have even more certainty that the story wasn’t planned as an end to a decade of stories but only as product designed to make the audience cry, to shock them. To “hit them in the feels”. It ended being a flawed and nonsensical story that let a lot of fans angry.

Endgame, as Thor: Ragnarok, failed in respect what came before – the paths took by the characters, the changes they passed, they traumas and overruns.

It failed in respect the actors – is a disrespect to give fake scripts and don’t tell your actors what is going to happen on the scene.

It failed to respect the fans by only want to shock them instead of giving them a well thought story and a proper end to their favorite characters.  

(Ragnarok also failed in the last two – Tom Hiddleston and Loki’s fans more specifically).

 The MCU lacks passion for storytelling and respect for they own characters, for the actors and for the fans. Hence, the MCU lacks a heart. Their movies are just products to them, and I guess their movies are already suffering because of that. They are not the compelling stories of Phase 1 with interesting plots and complex characters. They are just movies.

‘Fun’ movies.

‘Shocking’ movies.

Empty movies.
