Rey studied the other with a critical eye, her grandfather had decreed that she needed a new guard, so here he was. Tall, dark, and if she was being honest with herself handsome.

“What’s your name?” She didn’t bother to introduce herself if he was assigned this job, then he knew who she was, just like everyone else.

shay had been trying to sneak out of class the back way. a guy from her class had given her a bit of the heebie-jeebies when he’d made a comment on how her butt looked in the skirt she had on. it wasn’t the first time a guy had made a comment, but it always made her skin crawl just a bit. and this guy had managed to make her feel uncomfortable in yet another place she should have felt safe. but being preoccupied with making sure he didn’t follow her out, she had backed right into someone else.

 ‘ oops-- i’m sor ‘, she went to say but when she turned around, she found herself face to face with a chest. looking up, she turned on a smile. ‘ i apologize, i wasn’t really paying any attention to where i was walking. ‘ she’d seen this guy in a class or two. but right now her brain couldn’t manage to remember his name, only that he was hard to miss because of his height. but her eyes train onto the cigarette in his hands before continuing, ‘ those things’ll kill ya, ya know? ‘
