TOKYO | Japan reporter freed from captivity in Syria returns home
TOKYO— A Japanese journalist returned to Tokyo on Thursday after being freed from more than three years of captivity in Syria.
Jumpei Yasuda was released on Tuesday and taken to neighboring Turkey.
Yasuda, wearing a black T-shirt, was escorted from his plane at Tokyo’s airport by Japanese officials and ushered into a black van.

Nightmare
The dream keeps reoccurring in the dead of night, But I know I can't help her, Can't make things alright, All I do is guard her and tell her she is safe, But I fear they have no meaning, In that terrible place, If I could step into her dream, I would without delay, Protect her from her nightmare, Make them go away, All I do is sit and watch, I comfort when it ends, Trying to find a way, To make the nightmare end.
