Attack on Titan X Mercedes me

I had work in the city and took the chance to hit the Mercedes me X Shingeki event. It had been a long time since attending an event since we are trying to avoid going out so it was a nice excursion. The event had been going for a while and it was a weekday so it wasn’t very crowded! At the event you could see a Shingeki car wrapping with many iconic scenes from the manga and manga panel decorations both inside and outeside. There was also a cafe and restaurant with different dishes themed to SNK.

Wanting to spend as little time as possible in the city I opted for the cafe menu instead of the course menu upstairs. Usually collaboration menus are not great but this was quite nice!

The car wrapping was really great! There is a chance to win a mini version.

Attack on Titan x LABO Collabo Cafe Honpo

Collabo Cafe Honpo is a different kind of cafe. There is no food or drinks served, at least not which people can eat. This is a cafe for toys! We made our reservation for the first day of the event which has two parts and waited in the smalll lobby to be taken downstairs.

Walking in we could see a display of acrylic stands available for purchase. You could purchase the complete set or buy them as blind bags. Above those acrylic figures were the coasters you could get with your food or drink order. So while you cannot take eat or take the food or drink home you do get the novelty coaster.

Each table has a mini display with furniture you can arrange to take photos of your plush or toys. So you can arrange the scene as you like. The space is a bit tight but there is a basket underneath the table to put your bags and coats. Because of the limited space it helps to be organized.

Once you are seated the staff will explain how the cafe works and will take your order. Aside from the acrylic character stands you could also purchase little drinks with the characters on top which you could take home. These are limited to one per person and all have the same design unlike the character drinks you can order for your toys which come in many colors and designs.

The drinks pictured above are the ones you can take home and pictured below are the ones you play with in the cafe.

There is a time limit and the staff will let you know when it’s last order so it’s important to watch the time.

Once your order arrives it’s time to have fun!

Shingeki x PaselaColabo Cafe

The end of the year is almost here and it has been so incredibly busy. I’ve been meaning to write about the different Shingeki events going on in Osaka. Actually, thanks to Shingeki my son and I could explore Osaka a lot this year! In addition to the USJ event and the Final Exhibit there were also some themed cafe events in the city. So let’s check it out!

This event ran from October 26th to December 6th 2019 at Bali Tower in Osaka. From November 11th they also introduced some collaboration merch.

The ordering system is by tablet and while some Pasela collaboration restaurants have English menus available this collaboration cafe did not. The way the system works is you place your order and confirm it and can also view everything you have ordered and your total. It’s a really easy and convenient system.

The menu for this cafe was playful and tasty and you could receive coasters for items ordered.

The perfect rock chicken was simple but really yummy. There was also a battered fish speared with a blade meant to represent meat blown apart by a thunder spear. Actually, it would have been nice to have alcoholic beverages to pair with these.

For drinks I ended up ordering the Erwin drink which came with sparkling water and soda water and you could inject it with a lemon syrup. Also the drink representing when buildings were flying and Connie makes a pun about Eren’s house was a really ridiculous.

On the sweet side there was some black tea to represent Levi’s tea time with some black tea pound cake which was really lovely.

I also loved the design for the 3DMG gateau chocolat💕

Events done by this company are always well organized and pretty reasonably priced. I do wish the merch, even though it was not anything spectacular, had been available from the beginning of the event but I understand that the purpose was to get people to come back especially since the CookPad collaboration Cafe opened shortly after.

Attack on Titan in Joypolis Season 3 Fun and Games

It’s time for part 2 of looking at the Attack on Titan in Joypolis event.✨ Last time we looked at a general overview of the event but actually there was even more to do and that includes games, fortune telling and as always a themed menu and coasters.

Joypolis in Odaiba consists of three floors and on the second floor you can find a variety of games to play. For the Shingeki games there was one where you throw balls into a bucket, one where you could roll a ball towards a prize goal and a game of chance where you can win prizes at random by turning a wheel with different colored balls inside. Well, my aim is so bad I ended up with my balls going into another girls bucket getting her a better prize and my son was not much better, so we opted for the game of chance after that.😆

In the first half of the even you could win post cards, character clips (what I was after), a square illustration card where you could choose the characters you wanted and a giant can badge. Each time you play costs ¥300. The second half had many different folders and little character envelopes you could win.

Another type of game you could play was a puzzle. Unfortunately it’s only in Japanese so it took me a bit of time to get through it but the logic puzzles were pretty straightforward and it was pretty fun. You have to explore the three floors of Joypolis one at a time to solve everything and at the end you will receive a prize of bandages with the characters on it.

There are three different character group designs featuring Eren,Mikasa and Armin, Levi, Hanji and Erwin and Annie, Reiner and Bertolt. This game costs ¥1,500 yen and now features a clear folder which it did not come with when the event first started!

You could also get your fortune told in the mysterious forest! This is available in multiple languages! But if your name is long it may not fit when you type it in.😆

Tower Records Cafe x Attack on Titan part 2

So now that we looked at the interior of the cafe let’s look at the special menu. We ordered almost everything on the menu except the the grilled chicken and broccoli and the sangria. But we will go back one more time to get the cards for the second half and will try those out next time!

The savory dishes we tried this time were Niccolo’s Presentation of Marley Cuisine which was a seafood pasta and In That Wall... which was a meat pie which a titan hidden inside.

On the sweet side we ordered Over The Wall to The Sea, a couple of seashell shaped madeleines with sugar crystals representing the sea and shaved white chocolate and nonpareils representing the sand.

Also the Subjects of Ymir Sweets Plate, a chocolate cake and mouse with berry sauce representing Ymir making a deal with the devil of the earth and the subjects of Ymir being conected by the coordinate.

The last dessert we ordered was The Female Titan’s Crystal, It has Annie sleeping in a crystal of tropical jelly. The description reads is that you talking to Annie Armin? Or is it Bertolt?

My son insisted that we free Annie so we did😅

For drinks we ordered black tea with a syringe, just sweetener inside, no spinal fluid.😅

Also a drink called the first time seeing the ocean.

We also ordered the lattes with messages shown at the top of this post. The nice thing was that you could choose the message! We chose “Invest everything in me!” And “Let’s go see the ocean!”
