1. If you could only chose one book to have on a deserted island, what would it be?
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I’ve always loved that trilogy, and whenever I’m out of town for more than a weekend, I take one of the books from that trilogy with me. The story perfectly encompasses my feelings that books = home.
2. What personal item gives you strength and why?
Hrm. Well. In relation to the last question, I’m gonna have to go with my books. They are my escape, my inspiration, my encouragement. They give me joy and make me think. Add the sentimental value of the antique books I inherited from Papa after he passed away, one of the most important men in my life and well- I think I’ve explained myself.
3. Top five favorite songs.
Oh. Oh no. You can’t ask me music questions. I’ll never make an accurate decision.
For my top 5 songs for today (because yes, my favorites vary day to day) I’m gonna go with: Casualty - Kopecky Family Band; Ghost - Sir Sly; Comes And Goes In Waves - Greg Laswell; Cough Syrup - Young the Giant; This Isn’t Everything You Are - Snow Patrol.
Not in any particular order.
4. Describe why one of the songs is in your top five.
Comes And Goes in Waves by Greg Laswell is kind of bittersweet in a way, but it always makes me feel better. It’s kind of encouraging in a way. It starts out with, “This one’s for the lonely,” and it reminds me that I’m not the only one who feels down and that I’m not alone in general.
5. What movie could you just watch over and over?
Erm. The Lion King. Pitch Perfect. Several Marvel movies.
(Can you tell I’m horrid at picking A favorite?)
6. Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset. I’m a definite night person. I never even see the sunrise.
7. Preferred mode of traveling?
I haven’t really done much traveling, so I don’t even know if I’m qualified to answer. I had one vacation where I took a plane, and that probably just seemed awesome because it was my first time on a plane.
8. If you could visit anywhere, where would it be?
I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland. That’s my heritage right there. I’d love to immerse myself in the culture and the history.
9. Which magical creatures did you wish existed?
Dragons. But like, nice ones. Not the kind that want to roast and eat people. That’s just rude.
10. Describe the perfect dinner/ meal.
Hrmm. I love ethnic foods. My favorite is probably Chinese or Thai. And now I’m hungry.
11. If you could tell one person anything, could be dead, fictional, or not born yet (like future child) who would it be and what would you say?
Can I tell myself something? Like past me? Something along the lines of, “I promise you’ll make it through this, but you need some help.” and “You need to love yourself too.” and “Stay the fuck away from him- he’s trouble, and he’s not worth it.” I never listened to anyone else, but maybe I would listen to future (present) me.
